Taylor Ray diagnosed a fuel pressure problem I've been having. Even though I didn't fix it last night at least it's one step towards the end result. I've been having a bad habit of waiting for a full day only to work on my rides. Felt great just to get out there for a couple hours. Thanks for the motivation

Good tip for side molding removal: *Works best on an already hot, sunny day after leaving the vehicle out in the sun for some hours* 1.) Use heat gun to heat up molding and work in small sections. I don't use fishing line, honestly. 2.) Buy 3M rubber wheel and use it with drill to take off the adhesive left behind. (can be found online or at most PPG/automotive paint supply stores) 3.) Clean off rubber shavings and other dirt when finished removing adhesive. 4.) Use some Meguiar's "cleaner wax" and buff the mess out of it! Bingo. Like the molding never existed! lol. Unless, of course, you have a lot older vehicle where it's possible paint is faded underneath. I've removed a TON of truck side moldings in my days. lol :D

Taylor, if there's still double sided tape residue is still on it, high quality label adhesive remover will take that right off. let it soak for 5 minutes then scrub it off with a towel. Then wash off the door because that shit eats paint. Used to have that problem with trim thats been on cars for a long time

Bertsen doesn't it have a vq in it?
@BertaleMedici7 жыл бұрын
Ayman Barakat Yes. Not sure if Marcos has a VQ35 or a VQ35hr both great engines. However it takes a lot of money and parts to make good reliable horsepower. (E.g. Stocker kit, cams, new fuel system, along with turbos and all other supporting mods) The g35 has the same cd009 transmission as the 350z as well. The CD009 is almost flawlessly comparable with a 2jz. With their connections to JDM Orlando getting a 2j would probably be cheaper than building the vq35. He will probably keep the vq for a while but eventual will go to a 2jz. Just speculation after watching Adam LZ and Taylor's Channel.

Hey man you should try hitting those trim spots with some 2000 grit wet sanding and then buff it out. Also a rotary buffer would work better cause it cuts the clear better. The general auto body rule of thumb is if you can easily feel the imperfection with your nail it's probably too deep in the clear to correct with sanding and buffing. Awesome video as usual!

Anyway keep up the good editing and I will see you next video!

Idk if someone else has posted this but when I did car wraps at my old job we would use eraser wheels to remove the gunk left from the side molding or when removing badges you can google search air drill eraser and you can get some for really cheap definitely under 20+ and they fit on air drills and work really good and don't damage the paint hope this helps!

Taking the BSM's off my C5 took several hours. 3M adhesive remover is much better than Goo Gone. Also, soak the glue in the adhesive remover and let it sit for a little while before hitting it with the fishing line.

as far as your door goes, go find someone with a paint micrometer to mic up the clear thickness. if it's thick enough, hit it with some wet sanding. then cut with a rotary buffer, you won't get the necessary cut with a flex DA. It just isn't gonna be enough. then you can polish it up. Trust me my dude, that can be corrected more than was attempted.
@SirZike7 жыл бұрын
timesareturning I highly recommend following this process. Should come out with little effort. Need to use the right buffer too, rotary all the way. Could go 1500, 2000, 2500 but might need to start with 1000.
