What a lovely daughter you are. So patient and helpful with your mama. And what a mama! So caring enough to learn the language of the place you're living. I'm enamored by you both!

Me at 6:23 - ⚰. I watch your channel to see how life is for you. I am also learning Japanese so tell your mom I adore her attempts to immerse in a new culture. I will do the same when I visit, despite being relatively an introverted person myself. Thanks for the entertainment.

Thank you SO MUCH for including both kanji and romanji in your translations! I have been FIGHTING through teaching myself japanese lol, and it’s such a huge help to have that resource for actual conversations in your videos!

your mom is so sweet! 💖 and yeah i remember how inspiring i found my classmate (who came to the Japanese summer school programme from my uni) when he started going around asking people what things are and then he would take notes of it. He ended up being so popular with the Japanese students and it both felt like an adventure when I hung out with him exploring Kyoto

I got so nervous seeing your mom interact with Japanese but she did great and even wanted to keep trying! I'm a super beginner and just started finally learning Japanese a couple months ago and there's no way I would feel confident enough to speak to people yet lol. So I really admire that she wasn't afraid. Always great to see more videos of you though!

Thank you! 😊 You can do it! It’s nerve wracking, but that’s how you level up faster. I use italki too for more practice. :) Check the description. Thank you always, Conscious Cloud :D

@@EnimsLifeinJapan No problem Enim and always great to see you! And thanks for the advice I will check it out :) Lately I've just been using apps like duolingo and lingodeer to get the basics but it's definitely not the same as actually speaking to someone.

Such a sweet video! Loved the inner panic when your mom accidentally said nihao. Also, so sweet to hear about the hair stylists wanting to learn and give it a try.

6:38 "中華料理"(japanese style chinese food 「chuka ryori」)is different from "中国料理"(Chinese food 「chugoku ryori」) because there are many creative dishes that have been improved for the Japanese. It's interesting to look into it and see how many different parts are surprisingly different.

Her confidence is inspiring to say the least. I think we could all learn a lot from her! Thank you for sharing. I just started living in Tokyo about a week ago and while I’ve been studying Japanese, I’ve been way too shy to use much or any of it. I definitely needed this video, thank you so much!

I subscribed to the channel because of its beauty. Both of you look great in yukata. Many Japanese people are shy, so they don't speak much, but I think there are many Japanese people with similar thoughts as mine. Keep up the good work!

I just love your mom and the way she just jumped into conversations. I'm headed back to Japan in a few weeks, and am reminding myself to speak up when I'm there. I want to do this, even knowing that I'm going to say some really silly stuff, like the time I asked a man on the train platform what the number of the next train was. He seemed stunned by this question--it was only after I got on the train that I realized I had asked him what the number of the next telephone was! I'm still laughing about this years later.

Heading back to Japan in March and stumbled upon your channel while the KZbin algorithm was feeding me Japanese videos; super glad I did! Absolutely LOVE the heart and passion you put in them and it's so sweet to see you and your mom in this one together.
