Actually, we shouldn’t speak to fascist and nazis like they’re decent people. Ben has inspired a few mass shooters. He talks about immigrants, Muslims, and people of color like they’re sub human. Just because he sounds educated, speaks fast, and seems well mannered, doesn’t mean he should be treated like he is a decent person. Bernie saying everyone should have healthcare and a republican getting shot, is not the same as Ben saying gay people and trans people shouldn’t exist. Embarrassing

There’s a reason why when most of us were growing up, we were told to generally avoid arguments about 2 things - politics and religion 😀. I feel like one of the biggest factors contributing to our current state of seemingly increasing division is the rise of 24/7/365 media where we’re constantly inundated with political and religious “propaganda”. I use that word because most people generally watch media that aligns with their worldview, which creates confirmation bias, which just makes us dig in even harder when it comes to debating “the issues”. Kudos to Ben and this young lady for showing us that we can disagree without resorting to ad hominems or childish outbursts.

I agree that generally arguments regarding religion and politics should be avoided where possible. Obviously if you’re out and about, working, shopping, etc., that’s definitely not the time or place for it. But I do feel discussions such as the one between this young lady and Ben are necessary. If you look throughout history, there has always been division, violence and bigotry in regards to politics and religion. I feel it’s sadly inevitable to have politics and religion without those things. It doesn’t make it justified or morally okay, but it’s just a sad reality. No matter the point in history or circumstances, there has always been people who let their emotions overwhelm their rational and logical thought process and take things to the extreme. But on the more positive side of things, look how far society has come and the many problems that have been solved over time. Sure nothing is perfect, and there are still lots of problems and challenges, but that’s why political discussions are needed, so we can find solutions to those problems.

In my humble opinion the biggest problem today that covers a lot of what has been mentioned in this video is we live in a twitter / x / ticktock generation. What I mean by this is we are only allowed to give a short answer to a deep conversation and society will not let you give more than that and if we did try to type a long answer or record a long video people will clip it to bite size chunks and that could alter the entire answer to the social questions we are talking about. A few times before I’ve written a answer on places like facebook and KZbin and gone in great depth why I feel and I believe in my humble opinion this is the answer and I’ve even had people I agree with getting mad at me because they clipped my response and took that small part not the answer in it’s entirety. Until people listen they have no real grounds to give their opinion on that answer because the answer they give will be almost wholly made up of speculation and misinterpretation. We need society to get out of this lazy mind set and be ok with opening up and speaking what’s on their mind entirely and then being patient enough to wait and listen to the replies don’t ignore them don’t cut them off don’t drift off because chances are that person listened to you and that’s why they have a long answer so do them the same courtesy as they did for you and listen quietly so you can give a informed response. This young person and Ben did this very well there was a few points they spoke over each other but it was not beating the other person down verbally it was just the heat of the debate. 👍🏻

Don't be humble about this, cause you're 1000% right. On of Our real biggest issue is social media and the ridiculous influences it has over the younger generation. Idk how many times I've heard something along the lines of "oh, I saw it on Facebook from a family member so it must be true" and it couldn't be farther from the truth. No one cares about actual truth, they seem to only care about the "popular" truth.

@@radiofloyd2359 not sure if this is a reply to me or if you was trying to reply to the video?. But my personal experience and point of view on that is that more often than not the left is arguing with the center and calling it right because it’s doesn’t align with its point of view. Where as the right will often see the center and the left point of view and understand the difference. I’ve even seen extreme left people calling left leaning people extreme right because the opinions don’t align. That’s the biggest difference is that unless the left’s argument is matched by their friends they are automatically foes. So who do you talk to? To try and discuss things?.

@@fubarghost13akawoz44 Engaging with points doesn't mean categorizing them in the way you want them to. It means carefully listening to and understanding the points, and where they come from. The left does plenty of that, while the right, frankly, just attacks strawmen 90% of the time.

That being said, I have way more issues with the prejudice and the discrimination in themselves than with the words used to describe it.

So with one of the first points they discussed, in agreeing with Ben, I find that while people's words aren't inherently inciting hatred, the growing number of general people who are so unhinged as to take words and react in physically violent ways is incredibly alarming. Yet, we gotta keep pushing for the truth and civility, no matter how tough it gets. anything-phobia is a truly confusing way to label things for the general population, the word phobia suggests fear, but when paired it becomes a verb of sorts. My sons have photophobia from a genetic condition, but they aren't afraid to see light, the light causes physical pain from deformities in the back of the eye. But props to this young woman for articulating her thoughts and questions with respect. We have much aloha and respect here- we have always been a blue state- but I hear more and more students and parents talk about how they aren’t being represented anymore. That the family units - you know we are multicultural and multigenerational here- family and respect and learnings from elders aren’t happening- that many who have left Asia are scared about how the left is leaning- most of my personal community and work community is very center -live and let live- I don’t think enough people on the island know where to start- we are the only state that doesn’t elect their school board and have no say in our kid’s education and as someone in the know- most 8th graders read and do math on average of 3/4/5 grade leveled -3/5 years below their grade level. I think someone who is level headed and can see how both sides of a debate is behaving is important - and I think you should consider getting involved locally here - beautiful mixed up plate lunch of cultures and traditions We are slowly being pushed to be more like CA- we have lots of school programs that come from CA and DOE even has many come from CA to speak to educators- and that is scary to think in 5 years that the 808 could be a mini CA

the reason disagreement is often seen as an attack is... well, because it often is. and it's very difficult to take someone at face value and extend your trust when they say things like "you are sinning" or "you are mentally ill" which are essentially dehumanizing statements not based on reality, demeaning to human beings who define themselves outside of religion or patriarchal values. so often the sort of argument shapiro makes here is a trojan horse or a dogwhistle for people who ARE hateful and who DO wish harm on those who defy their traditional beliefs. it's virtually impossible to accept his argument, logical as he may make it sound on its face, when he spends so much of his time fixating on the trans community, essentially denying their truth again and again and again ad nauseum, year after year. saying that he himself wishes no violence upon anyone is a copout, because he completely panders to those who do. i applaud this girl for understanding that this sort of measured dialogue is the only way to come out of a conversation with ben shapiro looking respectable. i mean, you know what they say about wrestling with pigs.

So my idea is to get Alex to react to some live videos from them and give his opinion on it since they are similar to the original band, and also i think they deserve to be more known to the public. I know some people are not liking this tribute band but for me they are something special since i know that Linkin Park may never perfrorm again as a band. So bombard Alex in dms or somewhere and also other reactors aswell since there are not so many reactors that have watched Hybrid Theory. Thank you.

While I agree with this is a free country, we should not dress xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism or any other bigoted behaviors, gestures, or language as a disagreement. These things do incite violence especially when a person has a large platform. There is a such thing as direct and indirect ramifications. Lastly people should be free to believe in whatever religion they want and live by the principles and teachings of that religion. Hell believe that everyone else that doesn’t follow is going to hell. The issue comes in when you want to push the ideology of your beliefs over the autonomy of someone else’s life. I could be wrong but I don’t see others trans individuals preaching the goodness of trans and asking people to become trans. They are happy to be able to express themselves and have their outside reflect how they feel internally. They just want to walk in their truth. I believe this young lady articulated herself as well as she could. When the audience is not in your favor and clapping after every statement one side is making it is very hard to stay level headed and press on and that she did very well.

Ben has totally lost his mind since October 7. I watch a lot of the lawyers on KZbin and it really should be something taught to kids in school. Like assign a side of a topic and show them how they can have intelligent, respectful and honest discussions. I’ve really learned a lot from LawTube 😊. I’m newish to this channel because of the reactions to political commentary and a few of the music reactions. I love watching debates and trials. And police investigations. It’s my ASMR 😂

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND using Merriam-Webster when looking up definitions. When you just Google definitions you're more than likely going to get a biased definition. The definition you read for Transphobia wasn't an accurate definition. Here's is the correct definition... trans·pho·bia ˌtran(t)s-ˈfō-bē-ə ˌtranz- : irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against transgender people

So sabbath in the Jewish tradition is on Saturday but Christians observe their day of rest on Sunday. Depending on what sect of Judaism there can be more to it such as not using technology on the sabbath but more often than not involves attending a service and spending the day with the family.

I remember when people changed their opening sentence from, "I think" to , "I feel" when trying to engage a conversation. It is a subtle change with massive ramifications. Case in point, the idea of being "triggered" did not exist before every sentence started with, "I feel". Taking it to the extreme; "I feel like 2 + 2 = 3". If you disagree then you have hurt my feelings. Back to topic, I don't "think" the government has jurisdiction over my body. Be it vaccination or abortion, I would challenge anyone to provide proof that we as a people empowered the government to make those decisions for us. Ben is both right and wrong, if I want him to call me he or she that is my right. It is equally his right to say no, I see you as a he or she and I will address you as such. What Ben does too often is apply his religious beliefs to his logical narrative, or perhaps he is doing it on purpose. I feel like it is something to think about.

The biggest issue when it comes to topics and discussions such as these is that you have reasonable people that will talk as Ben does here and will even practice it truthfully in the real world but there are too many that don't. An example of this: The idea that its against his religious beliefs for same sex couples to exist but in a free society they should be allowed to do so. In his ideal world, all churches would have the choice to marry them or not, so people would have to find a church that would. Fair enough, right? But that's how segregation happens, when there's zero oversight or power from a governing body that can influence everyone in every city/state. It would push people to congregate and gather up with every one of a similar prejudice and allow those people to do as the pleased without any limitations. Now, the opposite is also true with governments having the ability to influence and regulate everything fully. Then all it takes is for a hype religious set of congressman and presidential candidates to get into office and suddenly we're losing Roe V Wade rights and other freedoms solely based on people's moral interpretations guided by hyper religious beliefs that should be separated from governing bodies, one of the key principles instituted by the founding fathers.

@AlexHefner You definition of Transphobia is a continuation of the way that the internet has given too much power to the uneducated to shape discussions. The suffix "phobia" by definition means to have an irrational fear of... So I support Ben in using language correctly. For what she wants, she needs the suffix -ist, as in racist, sexist. I don't support Ben, but I support keeping language universally understandable, which requires that each sub-group doesn't rewrite language for their own "click".

The problem with people talking about transphobia is it says it right there “having a prejudice against transgender people” I personally don’t have any prejudice against any person that I am aware of. I am however strongly against wild ideas that some kids and youth arrive at and the fact that many people in society today want to normalize these weird ideas that they get, especially when it comes to kids. like Allowing a doctor to do a surgery on a child because the child who doesn’t fully know what she or he is yet has something click in their head that says “I’m not supposed to be a boy or I’m not supposed to be a girl” and then society says OK well if you want and your parents say it’s OK let’s change that. Let’s give you hormone blockers and cut that stuff up and stuff it inside you or blah blah blah whatever they do to girls who “transition” that’s what I have a problem with. Im not against the persons, I’m against what society has done with these ideas and these thoughts and these feeling. these are life changing decisions that kids are making. they don’t even qualify. If there’s something wrong with the kid. Maybe there is a deep rooted lack of love. have they been molested? they just hear he has a problem. She has a problem they don’t feel like they’re right in their body. Let’s change that. and they don’t ever tell you about the ones that regret it deeply. Some of them even want to kill themselves after making a transition. Because sometimes they are not happy with the outcome of how their life is afterwards but when they were younger, they didn’t realize the ramifications of this process and once you go through with it, it’s hard to go backwards what’s worse is They’ve been blocked from having the natural hormonal process for years and now they haven’t had the proper puberty experience and their sexual identity is all messed up. And it goes on and on.

Language in general is being diluted. I dont necessarily think it's changing the definition. People just aren't being taught to respect the sanctity of meaning, so the definition isn't being represented properly. I do think a lot of that misrepresentation is deliberate, though... and being skewed to propagate harmful information. Or, like Saiman said, used to shame and gaslight people into accepting the harmful information more readily. When I heard this young lady's definition of homophobic, I rolled my eyes. She conducted herself well, but I couldn't get past that explanation.
