Mk 12:28b-34
One of the scribes came to Jesus and asked him,
"Which is the first of all the commandments?"
Jesus replied, "The first is this:
Hear, O Israel!
The Lord our God is Lord alone!
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
with all your soul,
with all your mind,
and with all your strength.
The second is this:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
There is no other commandment greater than these."
The scribe said to him, "Well said, teacher.
You are right in saying,
'He is One and there is no other than he.'
And 'to love him with all your heart,
with all your understanding,
with all your strength,
and to love your neighbor as yourself'
is worth more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."
And when Jesus saw that he answered with understanding,
he said to him,
"You are not far from the kingdom of God."
And no one dared to ask him any more questions.

Salve Maria! Fr. Timothy, this is so true! I only wish I heard it before going to confession on Friday. I made this mistake of stating a sin and made light of it and oh boy, the priest gave me a lashing for making light of this serious sin I committed, making me realize that because of this one sin, I had, by default committed two other sins that I needed to ask forgiveness for and do penance for. I hope and pray to never do this again.😢🙏

Glad i did tell the priest about what i had done he did say he would pray for me but did not comfort me he told me things i was afraid to hear but it turned out he was %100 correct but i realised thst was the most positive conffesion ever

Several times I've found during my confession that the priests were not really listening to me. The last time I went the priest told me to say anything for my penance.I felt like reciting William Wordsworth poem Daffodils after my absolution.I won't be going to confession to that church anymore.Salve Maria.

@@richardwatterstan ohhh dear friend, I *promise* to *pray* for you *everyday, I promise.* 👍💯✋😊 but just a *piece of advice, don't give up praying* cuz it *may seem* that our prayers are *unheard* or *unanswered* but believe me, God is already *working* on our prayers, that is, for our own salvation, our families and relatives, our friends, the souls in purgatory, and the whole world. you may never know it but He *works* in *mysterious* and *incomprehensible* ways. so, just *trust, endure, persevere, have an unwavering faith and great hope and trust in God.* and everything will *turn out fine* in *His* own *perfect time* with the *help* of our *blessed mother.* I know that *after* confession, we *commit* sins *again and again,* just the *same* sins, because based on my own experience, it's because God is *putting us to the test to make us truly holy* which is His *holy will* for us all. but, we should *never ever be discouraged.* we must *continue* to go to confession *regularly,* pray *unceasingly,* and *do* His *holy will.* and when we *have done* His holy will, there will always be *abundant graces* and *consolations* in the midst of *spiritual dryness* and *bad things that happen.* God bless and reward you abundantly always. It’s not safe to conceal a mortal sin when you know it is mortal. It is a sacrilege. When confessing strive to put God in the center and not think of oneself. In day to day life practice forgetfulness of self and the best way to do so is thinking of others and Admiring the virtues and graces of others. If we strive to do this we will be safe. God Bless

Thank you for sharing this with us. I was wondering if a person can’t accomplish, all the requirements asked after they consecrate themselves. Would it be better not to do the consecration? Exemple you must do the full rosary every day . If it’s not possible to do all 20 mysteries every day should that person not do the consecration?

Do your consecration with the firm resolution of working towards that goal. The essence of the consecration is not the the external devotions but an internal disposition to give yourself entirely. Watch the live transmissions to understand the essence of the devotion
