A little while ago I began my journey of studying herbalism, and it was intimidating to begin. I wanted to share some resources and encouragement for those just beginning their studies or those overwhelmed by all the options. There are plenty of resources and places to begin, these are merely just a few that I have found helpful!

One comment - I saw that you were only drying chamomile flowers. Which, they’re great for headaches and mild tension. But the dried stems, if steeped, can help with period cramps. I had a Mexican-American roommate and it was her go-to for cramps.

Heidi Villegas course at healing harvest is awesome. You have lifelong access to materials, student groups and you can do a certification course that does not cost an arm and a leg. The best information I came across looking at different courses. You can do the course at your own pace and she also have payment plans available

You should not dry herbs in the sun it cooks the life out of them.

Yeah, I learned that sun drying takes a lot of the flavor out, but right now it’s the best option we have until we get a dehydrator. The chamomile we sun dried still tastes really nice so it’s working for now 😆

@@thehomegrownartist If you are only doing small-medium quantities, I got a circular mesh hanger for drying herbs on Amazon (until I can get a bigger setup on shelves with screening). It works really well for that qtt. I hang it on my window curtain rod that I close to keep the sun off it and keep the ceiling fan on for a few days after harvesting fresh herbs or flowers. I add paper towel for this fine herbs or flowers that would fall through the mesh, like chamomile, (or sometimes also just dry those separately on my baking trays lined with either dish towel or paper towel, and under the ceiling fan). It works really well. And it’s out of the way. Bonus: No chance of getting rained on. 😉☺️ Thank you for your video and suggestions❤
