Knowing what Khanyisa went through, being injured and orphaned (which I can barely stand to think about), and then seeing the herd embrace her ... her tiny pink self amongst the Grey giants ... takes my breath away. ❤

completely, i often think those nights of her alone after losing her mom and herd, i can barely think about it i MUST stop thinking over thinking i cant take it, i cant imagine her alone at night its beyond me how much evil it takes to do this to a such precious little baby

This must have been a great treat for Khanyisa. She was finally with all the "grown ups" to find new things and be surrounded by all their care and protection to find out what the grown up elephants did all day when they were away and where they went when previously she mostly stayed in the orphanage or just went out on short journeys with Adine and some carers . I wonder if she ever remembered her original herd before she was caught in that terrible snare

Yes April 2020. still locked in from covid and this little elephant saved my life and spirit. I forgot how tiny she was! she's a big girl now. watched for daily updates and when Fenya came and left far too soon. but our baby girl has become so big now, and she knows she is loved and cared for the herd has welcomed her in. can't get enough of her progress.

At the beginning of this video, the elephants along on the walk were listed. I want to see how well I've familiarized myself with all the elephant members of the Jabulani herd by attempting to name those not present. To the best of my memory there's Mambo, Limpopo, and Fishan. Phenabe had yet to arrive at the orphanage and I'm not sure if the precious Fenya had already passed. There's another orphan with a beautiful Afrikaans name who passed unexpectedly. The name escapes me. I also don't know if he had arrived yet at the time of the video. I suspect I've made omissions, but in time, I hope to know all these beautiful beings by name.
