When registering an LLC, the state will ask for two addresses. One is the business address and another is the registered agent address. Don't mix them up! Some states don't allow P.O. Boxes or Virtual Addresses.Virginia (where I live) being one of them. Also, the history of your addresses is public. Not sure if its every state thought.

When building credit you need a legitimate address, not a P.O. Box or one of those virtual addresses that 89 other people have. It's easier to have a unique address, abd not have to wait for mail to be forwarded to your actual home address, or running around picking it up from somewhere else.

A registered agent is something that you must have if you register an LLC in a state that you don't live in. It also helps (and is basically required) if you want to have an anonymous LLC. So, if you registered in Wyoming, then yes, you'd need a registered agent to be listed on the articles.

Yes, that's one of the steps that would be involved in registering an anonymous LLC. But, it also depends on the state that you live in. The reason is because if you register in Wyoming and live in a state that doesn't have anonymous LLCs,, then the process gets a little tricky due to foreign qualification.

Hi Robert, I have a doubt..for a Mercury Bank account they tell me this "We cannot accept registered agent addresses" (in the company address) when I try to use my company address (created in the NorthWest registered agent)... You will have to ask Mercury. However, it's common for banks to not accept a registered agent address. Instead the bank will ask for your personal real address.
