Woke up Thursday morning over here in Wake County to a wonderful treat with that cool front that rolled in. right now it's 1:43 in the afternoon and the temperature at 77 degrees I'm out working my bean fields without having to wipe that salt perspiration out of my eyes. Only got a tenth of an inch rain yesterday out of the remnants of the storm passing through. Enjoyed your video thanks for putting it out here.

Meredith, I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Can't seem to get enough of them. Trying to catch up on some of the older ones, and am enjoying them all. God bless you and yours. I'm in SW Oklahoma, not a farmer, but know lots of them. I know it is hard work, and takes a special kind of people to do it. I thank all of the farmers for their hard work to feed our nation, and provide all the things they produce. May God continue to cause y'all to prosper and live your lives to the fullest. Keep the videos coming. Your son & I share the name, Wesley, so I'm kinda enjoying watching him grow up. He's making a fine 'Hand'. It's good to watch y'all do your work and see the family togetherness. Thanks again. God bless..!!

Dear Meredith. Peining refers to deforming the end of a bolt to prevent the nut from working loose from vibration. That's why a hammer with the rounded ball on one end is called a "ball-pein hammer". So nice seeing a family work together as one unit. Makes me laugh when you have grease all over you, when I work on a farm I could just walk by something that was greased and it would be all over me. Austin and Westley work well together. Wont be long till they can't swim, hope they enjoyed. Nashville got over three inches of rain from Ida, if you need rain hope you get some, but no storms. Glad you got the pit done. Thanks for the video. Keep them coming.

Praying for all that has had damage or injuries from the hurricane I pray you didn't have too much rain to destroy your crops. God bless this family they have been through enough with equipment breaking down whenever they need it they get rain when they don't need it and don't get rain when they do. Amen 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 you have some hard working children who don't complain about doing it. I grew up on my grandparents farm i started out very small walking around the barn with my grandpa getting everything I needed with him to fix something on his tractor 🚜 ❤ he would be working on it and I would be working on mine I had a toy tractor and some plastic tools and I would keep working right along side my grandpa. I was about 3 when I knew how to pick veggies off the vines grandma had a half acre garden or maybe bigger we worked outside from early morning to noon picking veggies then we would go in and get everything ready to start canning everything usually my Aunt's my Mom and Dad and a few other ladies would come help cut the veggies shuck corn 🌽 break green beans chop tomatoes cut the cucumbers 🥒 to make pickles once done everyone went home with jars of veggies love watching your videos reminds me of days long ago. I'm in my mid 60's now so it was long ago.

Good stuff as always. If I understand correctly, Lawrence uses the mechanically driven legacy equipment that the farmer can still work on. With all the computer controls and sealed bearings and the like on the newer machines and implements, the farmer is pretty much stuck with having the repairs done by the dealer, who often cannot work on it in a timely manner and is usually inordinately expensive. Having grown up on a farm and a retired engineer from the heavy equipment and automotive industries I can tell you that what your husband does is extraordinary, not easy, and requires a great amount of skill. I applaud him for having the courage and fortitude to go his own way and I can assure you that you and your children have an opportunity to learn things that just aren't taught anymore. Very few people of the generations that have followed us don't know these valuable skills. I know you have the utmost regards for Lawrence's skills so I just wanted to reinforce the fact that he is one very highly skilled and remarkable man.

You mentioned lots of trip to the shop to get what you didn't think you needed. If I had a dollar for every trip I made I could be rich lol! We used the same brand of forage harvester and the cutter bar or shear bar is one of two things to make a quick clean cut. The other are the rotating knives on a spinning cylinder. The knives must be kept sharp in order to make a clean cut of the crop and save fuel!! Love watching Austin and Wesley handle the power tools. Great job!!! Till next time.........
