I had 5 babies with gas and air, pethedine and diamorphine, can honestly say nothing stops that pain but I found breathing into every contraction, long, deep breathes, until it was gone, rest and drink lots of water in between contractions ❤❤❤❤❤

I like seeing these. I was an 18 year old first time mum and I didn't know I could have a birth plan. I remember they asked me when I went in and I said "what's that"? 😅 Nurse said don't worry about it. But seeing that you can opt out if a catheter, I would have much rather done that bc after was so painful 😞

The meds that they give you aren’t good for you. Also our bodies are made to do it without meds!

I'm personally not pregnant but would love to be a mom in the future. For me I would like to walk around and try different birthing positions. Also, I've watched a ton of birthing videos and there were some horror stories about the epidural. There was a woman who got the wrong dosage and couldn't feel anything from the neck down during birth. Not being able to move or be in tuned with my body absolutely freaks me out. Also, call me crazy but I'm actually curious about the pain of childbirth and what it's like from start to end

You still have your whole pregnancy to make a birth plan if you want. I had one and it went out the window once those contractions hit! Lol. I was trying to have an all natural, but I am thankful I ended up getting the epidural. Plus, if you wait too long, they won't give you one. My mother talked some sense into me when I first checked into the hospital for my induction and got me to sign the paper to give permission for an epidural in case I ended up changing my mind. I didn't want to, but she made me feel better by reminding me that just because I'm signing to get one, doesn't mean I HAVE to get it! It's just signed and approved in case I did decide to get it. And AGAIN, I am SO THANKFUL that I did in the end. Whew! 😂❤😊 Good luck and congrats!!

You can’t. They have to put one in. 😂 A few of the things she wanted won’t happen. 😂 The episiotomy is not up to the doctor it’s up to her body. If her body needs more “space” so to speak…then the doctor is going to cut her. 😂 The whole thing was a little over the top to me. 😂

​@Emzzzzz09 it's called informed consent and you have the right to decline any and ALL medical procedures. Catheters are usually needed for epidurals due to immobility which she does not want. And most episiotomies happen because woman birth on their back which is done for the "convienance" of doctors and actually causes a delayed birth and closes the pelvis and then leads to pelvic floor Dysfunction.
