Remember, PhD advisors are often incredibly busy but they want to help you so that your project is productive and successful. Best Practice for PhD advisory meetings : - Create a Meeting agenda in Bullet Point and send it 24 h before the meeting, use this list to guide the meeting conversation - Take plenty of notes during the meeting (I use OneNote as you can copy-paste it to MS word/email later) - "Overdress" your language in the meeting - Send out an Acknowledgement of the Meeting via email, it serves as a record, saves time for both sides to remember the details/progress made These email communications may take a longer time to prepare, but it certainly saves time from miscommunication in the long run!
