It is not a problem, you are trying to make this a problem. I own a quick jack and use it on my wife's 2021 Mustang and my 2023 Tacoma and it works great, for the Tacoma I bought the SUV blocks so the jack will lift the Tacoma better. To ask quick jack to provide a list of every make and model of vehicle it will work with would be next to impossible because they don't have access to every make and model of vehicle to test it. That is why they show you how to take measurements so you can select the quick jack that will work for you.

@sunfield113 Жыл бұрын
@@Miguelsgarage There are a couple of factors that determine which QuickJack you need. - The distance between your front and rear lift points (lift point spread) - The distance between the lift points and the ground (ground clearance) - The distance between the tires (tirespread) - The weight of the vehicle Why a list is not ''super simple'': - The distance between front and rear lift points is not public information, so you won't be able to determine the QuickJack model needed lenghtwise (TL, TLX or ELX) - The distance between the lift points and the ground (ground clearance) is not public information, so you won't be able to determine if you need the 5000 or 7000 - People have modified cars (lowered, bigger rims, or whatever) and might not even know it. A list will give a false perception. If you have a lowered car, the ground clearance changes, if you have different wheels, the tirespread could change. - Car manufacturers change their models, designs all the time. For example, newer BMW's have a way bigger lift point spread than they used to have. If QuickJack would say: 3-series will fit 5000TL model, that might not be the case in the newer model. - If you have multiple cars, you want ONE QuickJack to fit both. Meaning, QuickJack would have to make a combo list of all suitable QuickJack models for each car, so you can cross check if both models are listed on separate cars. And then there’s accessories combo’s: Example: you own a small Porsche and a Truck. The Porsche has tight tire spread and can only fit the TL. The Truck has a big lift point spread and need the TLX. Solution: TL + extension frames. If you are spending a couple of grand on a tool, why not take 15-20 minutes to measure your cars and check the measurement sheet. Or use this calculator: measurement.quickjack-nederland.nl You can fill in the measurements for as many cars as you want and the calculator will tell you which QuickJack you need. I don’t think the video and it’s caption, your lack to investigate in a product is entirely fair. Edit: The list of vehicles in your video shows the visual locations of lift points but not a single measurement, which is really important to know to determine a QuickJack model.
@Miguelsgarage Жыл бұрын
I appreciate you taking the time to put together your explanation above. I touched on some of those points in my video and they do have the information above listed on their website. However, lift points ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT part when buying one of these. My QuickJack fits perfectly. All the measurements are correct, EXCEPT for the lift points. They do not line up and there's no mention of lift points on their website. I've come up with a solution. I'M GOING TO LIFT THE CAR SIDEWAYS!! Stay tuned!

If you know the jacking points on your car, you can look up the quick jack models and see the dimensions of the jack and how it would fit under the car. On the jack itself, you have the area where you can adjust your rubber blocks to meet up with your car's jack points. I have the 7000 and it works on smalls cars up to pick up trucks just fine. I did not have any issues in figuring this out.
@oldphart-zc3jz4 ай бұрын
Owners manuals show jacking points as do service manuals. If you wrench seriously finding jack points (or alternate jack points if the area is rusted) should not be an issue at all. BTW a useful trick is using wood cribbing because wood doesn't tend to slide on dry steel and when jacked against an uneven surface deforms to grab it. That's one reason smart riggers place wood on their forklift forks when picking heavy machinery (the other is protecting the lift point from the forks. When you have Porsche money and a large facility like that a post lift will always be preferable. Even if you rent the owner shouldn't mind (ask first) a few anchor holes in the floor for a lift since you can fill those perfectly with epoxy when the rental/lease terminates.

I went on their website, they throw bunch of model numbers and prices and you are supposed to dive in deep to see what you need. Even a small matrix table with lift range versus unit length would help make some decision. Some people said it would open them to liability, which is BS because it can be handled with a little lawyer note that says information is for guidance only and that customer should do their own research prior to purchase like you see an many things. Their website gives you all the info you need to determine the correct lift. As far as lift points, their assumption must be that if you're willing to get under the car, you must own a manual that would have told you where to lift it from or a ten minute internet search asking where everyone else lifts theirs. "My fault for not doing my research before purchasing." Yes. Yes it is. This is up there with the people that knock Quickjack when they find out they need an air compressor to charge the cylinders.

If your that unshore of yourself just look at car manual or with the magic of the internet look it up or stay away from car tools altogether lol Not that hard. This is not rocket science. The quickjacks are designed with some accessories if needed to lift any car or truck within its weight rating. I have even pickup a 1962 classic shevy truck. Also you see these at race tracks. You mechanics out there or DIY guys get it and enjoy it. This is a great lift when you have limitations to just your driveway or small garages. I have done exhausts brake jobs suspensions etc. Don't give yourself doubts about it because of this video. Go get it you will not be disappointed. They also have the 12v system if you need it on the road . PS: I find that my 7,000lbs model will fit most cars and trucks. But you can measure your car and go accordingly to whst you need or spend. I know what i was going to need so i needed the 7,000 lbs. I have elantra as well as a subaru outback and a 2021 GMC elevation and it works perfectly for all 3. But you might not need one like mine. Just pick the right quickjack for your needs for your car or truck. You might overkill besides spending more then you need to spend. Another thing by picking the right quickjack you might spend less and use that savings to buy accessories like extra pinch blocks or extensions for extra clearance or hight.
