The ONLY Cadillac you should ever buy is a 1994 Toyota Celica
@theroyalcrownedtiger2946
@theroyalcrownedtiger2946 3 жыл бұрын
That's just wrong to say that a 94 celica is a cadillac. Cadillac is a domestic luxury automobile made by GM. celica is a old import econo box car made by toyota. Your comparing apple and orange, they are both fruits, but they are different fruits. I will take the old 90's Cadillac anyday, the old Caddys are very well built automobiles, and yes it's very very reliable, and very durable too, the key to making Caddy lasts a helluva long time is on time common servicing such as oil changes, brakes, tires, light bulbs etc. Don't disrespect / don't hate on old Cadillacs, just because it's not a import, back in the old days Caddys are very well made and lasts really long time. I still know someone still driving a old 90's Cadillac with 500,000 clicks on the odometer, on original motor and transmission, and the original owner too. Hes a senior guy that still owns and drives that old Caddy today, and he loves that car alot, still runs and looks good today.

First car I owned was a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. Very powerful truck and the ride was the best. Never had any technological with it. Owned from 30k miles & sold it at 155k miles. Owned a 2013 Cadillac CTS, had about 80k miles when I got it. Owned for 2-3 years with no issues at all. Smoothest ride. Then I got a Corvette C6 Z06 at 90k miles. Owned that for 3 years. Absolutely zero issues with tremendous mpg & power!! Now I own a Corvette C7 Z51. Its been about 6 months & so far so good. Great performance & quality ride. Never had any technology issues with these cars. Now I have my eyes on a 2016 CTS 3.6 to have as a daily. To be fairly honest, Id consider Cadillac as the second or third most reliable luxury car there is. Lexus at number one of course. Parts are not hard to find & super inexpensive as compared to its competitors. These are just my 2 cents, lol.

Update! My Beach Beater cost me about $225 for parts, labor and shop supplies, including the oil and filter change. I share the blame with age and wear and tear considering I hit two different potholes. The first one annihilated my strut mount on the passenger side, so the pressure line on my power steering pump was already in a strain, and it had sprung a small leak which got real serious when I hit the second pot hole! I purchased the strut mounts a while back and my quote for installing those for ($142) was so low I'm going to let them do that too, but there wasn't time for that today because I had a doctor's appointment It's taken a few years but my AC refrigerant has leaked down again and it's got the rear air so it costs about $60 for a recharge by my guy. That's going to push me up to around $450 bucks, but I haven't had to spend any money on that car in well over a year.

If you do want a Cadillac, get a 2nd gen cts-v, it makes a lot of power and since they are LS engines they are relatively reliable. That was before gm quality went super downhill, and since the V was an exclusive car they were built pretty well. The CTS V was designed to compete with Europe performance sedans like the e63 and M5, so it handles amazingly well. To farther prove they are good cars they held their resale value relatively well, and now starting to rise a little in value. My last point, you could get the 2nd gen CTS V with a manual

This was in the mid 2000s (when I worked for GM at another location), not sure about now. All the GM plants wanted to outperform the LGR facility back then.

Actually the north star 4.6 and previous 4.1 and 4.5 V8 engines have the same engineering problem. Reverse coolant systems. Meaning the coolant returns to the engine from the top radiator hose instead of the bottom. When the system is working correctly it's awesome. It can cool and maintain proper engine temps regardless of constant load. The flaw in the system is that it has to constantly circulate in order to keep water vapor from entering into the engine displacing the coolant and over heating it. To achieve this they installed a small tube from the inlet housing running back to the over flow tank there by giving a place to allow the vapor to be released. The engineering problem is Dexcool. It clogs up this tube leading to over heating. It will have all the symptoms of a blown head gasket, but your radiator carbon dioxide detector will not detect any CO2. The head gasket will blow if you keep over heating it. The fix is replacing this return tube and clearing any obstructions like the nipples. I've made a lot of money flipping caddies I bought after CO2 testing and fixing the problem.

Modern Ram are now selling more than GMs. They have one of the most reliable Hemi or Cummings engines out there. Also, look at the numbers. Toyota only sold 111,673 Tundras in the US in 2019. Ram sold 633,694 in 2019. Hmm...so if Toyota was ooooh so much better, then why did Ram sell over 5.5 times more than Tundra??

Overpriced.... this car should be $15k tops. It is 10 yr old car which was 55-60k new. It is also built-in Indiana, USA with almost no Japanese parts. Go look at the sticker on a new one.... You will see parts content. For less money; I personally would at GMC Yukon Denali. The powertrain on those trucks is bullet-proof and the Denali is nicer vehicle.

had a 2013 CTS-V that was rock solid reliable, and an ATS-V that was the same. These cars have split personalities. They drive very easy like a commuter car when you want to, but putting it into one of the PTM modes turns it into a ridiculously aggressive tack car that outperformed the M3 and AMG C63. I had no trouble with either car, and both retained their value better than the competing german models. When you put 50k, 70k, or even 100k+ on a car like that where you are using it as both a daily driver and hammering it at the track you are going to find weaknesses and expect failures but the only thing that required any additional attention was brake pads. The V community is small, and their experiences are similar. I'd say Cadillac earns a little more respect than is given. It's not the days of the early N star motors anymore

V6 Cadillac FTW! My mom has a 2005 CTS 3.6L, great car.. 180K miles and turns on and runs like new still. Bought at 95K miles, one bad injector so i put all new injectors at 140K, one bad coil so i put all new coils at 155K, Fuel filter at 120K, shifter linkage (bushing) at ~160K, and about to replace the engine and trans mounts (doesn't really need them, but it feels a bit sloppy), HID ballast and lights replaced at around 130K, that's it. All the work done myself with quality parts and spent around $600 in total, half that just being the lights. Obviously breaks and other consumables aside NOW!! my dad had a 2004 SRX 4.6L V8, all of the problems you can imagine but the radio never failed. Design flaw makes the valve train fall apart and it was easier replacing the entire engine (twice) and it only got to 170K miles with engines from ~60K mile trucks. NorthStar engines might be great new, never last.. you would think Audi U.S. made them.

It has a V8 engine, it’s a snowmobile, and it get better gas mileage than a new Q50 3.0. They have a huge trunk, and lots of leg room. Idk man. It's crazy because my 2003 Cadillac CTS 3.2 liter 24 valve V6, has 219,000 miles and it still runs great. The transmission gave out with the previous owner so I bought the car at a low price, rebuilt the Getrag 5 speed transmission and I been on the road for over 30k miles already. Cadillacs are good cars but not for people who do not have the funds or people who don't like repairing or maintaining their car. There was a year I did about 6 oil changes that year I got the car so I can clean the motor. Now in 2020, my oil is so clean it looks like vegetable oil. So the motor is very clean and I use MMO in my gas. So my valves gotta be clean. Also my throttle body is clean as hell. No oil, nothing. I cleaned the PCV lines that's why. Car runs great, it just needs maintenance after a while. But what I noticed is, the damn thing keeps running if you fix it. MIND YOU, I have the first CTS with the 3.2l. The motor introduced in 2004 is GARBAGE 🗑️. That 3.6l v6. Is trash! Replacing the timing chain cost the same as puting a new engine in it. And the motors too crammed up in the car. Can't even work on it. The 3.2l is crammed up in there too, for example the coil packs are kinda hard to get to because of fuel lines. But it can be done. Other than that I prefer the 2003 cts 3.2 over the next versions. I know alot of people hate the 3.2l engine but strangely enough, I've had good luck with that motor. I've seen that 3.6l v6 being used it a variety of GM cars and that motor SUCKS. Plus you gotta change the actual valve covers so you have the updated PCV valve covers. Basically they put a splash cover so you don't suck oil. My opinion is they should of thought of that before. Like who designed that?
