All the big KZbinrs with money are unloading excess cars, my wife and I have unloaded a few with value while the market is high, and really anyone smart is unloading right now. The bottom is about to fall out of the used enthusiast car market. ALL air cooled Porsches are pulling huge money for no reason (there’s a ton of them), I knew we were in a huge bubble when 80’s 911 targa’s started climbing above 30k. This market is artificial.

Putting a aftermarket remote start on a Nissan is a good way to brick your car (make it never drive again). The car usually won't develop a problem until you go to have new keys programmed. If your car wasn't designed to do something its best left alone. Computers are very picky and car computers are no exception.

Love all of your content JR, but $25 for a maintainer is a no-brainer. I only drive my 84 Z in summer and the maintainer has kept the battery fail free for 10 winters.

I use a battery terminal disconnect switch on my 80 Triumph that sits mostly in the garage. Rather it be disconnected for safety reasons than keep a battery tender on it. For me it works.
@Flies2FLL2 жыл бұрын
I drive my '14 Cayman S nearly every day and I still keep it on a maintainer. Doing this will make your battery last twice as long. It only takes a few seconds to plug in, but it will save you hundreds of dollars down the road.
@ttopero2 жыл бұрын
@@Flies2FLL does this help with issues from extreme weather like in the desert or “tundra” states? I had to replace batteries every other year in Phoenix. Got 3-4 years in Minneapolis.
@Flies2FLL2 жыл бұрын
@@ttopero I've been told that using a maintainer goes a long way towards preventing lead acid batteries from "sulfating". Keeping them charged keeps the sulfate issue from occurring until the battery is very old. 6 years is not unusual if a maintainer is used. One thing that can also be done to improve battery life is to get the battery AWAY from the engine. Heat is one of the things that kills batteries. My Cayman S has the battery in the cowling, but this is a mid engine car so it never gets that hot. My previous car was a 928, and its battery was in a compartment under the spare tire.

Your battery is in the exact same location in my Infiniti G35 -- it even looks like the same battery. My G35 has self healing paint and I'd be shocked if the GTR doesn't also have self healing paint.
