Such a, beautiful place is kargil, peoples are very lovely, connected and good behavior with Army personnels... Many of frnds i made there during my posting at henu post at LOC nearby the kargil town..... Very very patriots peoples live in kargil and i never saw any single person in the anti national activities... Hotel jozila ke owner, readymade shop vali aunty, local star cricketer imran bhai.... Since government has made the selection of CDS more flexible (and ambiguous), don't you think that in the future government (any regime) may choose an officer to be a CDS just for their own narrow political interests, just like police commissioners or DGP are selected ?

If we choose not to trust the wisdom of our own elected government, there will be no end to such debates by even most unworthy critic like me. Have we questioned How GENERAL KAUL was given command of Indian Army in 1962. General Vaidya had superseded Lt. General SINHA ( who then resign ed). That time GENERAL RAO who was succeeded by General Vaidya had commented defending the selection that, ' THERE IS NO RUNNERS UP AWARD IN WAR'.

Just because a government has been elected, that doesn't necessarily mean it would be right in every decisions that it takes. It's a duty of the citizens, however little educated they might be, to remain aware of what government is doing for the them.

In 1962, forget Armed forces coordination issues... even government agencies wasn't capable to counter Chinese aggression over Ladakh. They even didn't send Air Force support to Indian Army, pretending they were not at war thanks to PMs "Gandhi-giri".🤦‍♂️ Those people who were in 1962 government (including PM himself) were so careless and incapable, that they planned on disbanding the Indian Armed forces when India needed it so badly.😮‍💨 If it wasn't for the daughter of PM himself, "Gandhi-giri was gonna doom the nation and become another Syria or Tibet"...

The big pertinent point is that if this position is so important why Govt took 10 months in selection and secondly why some time frame is not given to fulfil the required tasks as china is breathing on our neck and India is under duress from Russia to buy their obsolete arms. Armed Forces face da major brunt. Soldiers life is too horrifying & dey don't get any benefits after retirement. All da while dey are just running, running with load on their back. Dey have to brave harsh climatic conditions through out da years. Harsh winters are da worst
