My new '95 YJ was $12K USD, with a hardtop and full doors. It was also pretty reliable, even with all of the abuse I gave it. Base MSRP was under $9K USD. '97 TJs debuted in late '95 or early '96 with a base MSRP that was still under $10K USD. They were fairly reliable too.

What is best online tool for searching models on lot for extended period ? I'm surprised at lack of manual transmission in new/used market. I bought a new 2024 Rubicon X for $58000 (MSRP $68000) about 5 months ago. Sky one top, manual transmission, leather seats, all the bells and whistles...and I still feel I paid too much even with another $11000 off from my JKU trade in. Don't get me wrong, I love my Jeep, but the prices are outlandish. Anyway I'm sure someone has mentioned, starting 2025 you can only get the manual transmission in the 3.6l and the automatics come only with the 4 cylinder turbos I believe. With the 2025 they did get rid of the automatic transmission upcharge.

@ front end fell apart at 20k miles, then the starter and battery went bad at the same time kinda weird. The tires got ruined because the front end fell apart and they would replace them. One day after getting jeep back it was shaking so bad I could drive it. They had to replace all the ball joints and steering stabilizer. A week later I brought it back and they found the brake caliper was frozen and needed replacing plus it ruined the rotor and pads. Then the radio blew out and the speakers stopped working. I could go on with a few more issues. They really do use the cheapest parts to build jeeps..

I bought a very basic '95 YJ new...then upgraded it with high-quality aftermarket stuff. Siped mudders, stereo/speakers, bumpers, rockers/steps, Tuffy storage, XJ rear D44, Ox-lockers, Herculiner, etc.
