Auto-Motive, there just were not that many of the MTs built. The 5AT is strong, but lacking that 6th gear is a big deal when you’re not making that much torque (stock). Plus the AT shifts relatively slowly. There’s ~ 13% loss in efficiency through the torque converter compared to the MT. This is why the stock 3.2L (J32A3) base model 5 speed AT runs ~ 6.3 / 6.4 sec 0-60, whereas the 6 speed MT runs ~ 5.7 - 5.9 sec.

If you know that now, why not take it off? That's like putting a TRD or NISMO badge on your Acura and telling everyone well I didn't know, it was the cool thing to do at the time. Humans invented this crazy powerful tool called the Internet and you know what is crazy? there is this cool thing called Google, it's like this magical search tool you type stuff into and it grabs all type of answers and information for folks that are not sure of things.
@AznInvasion5216 жыл бұрын
A unique yet tasteful build with enough power to back it up, well done. Although I have some tiny notes to add, first off super small but the iVtec decal isn't technically correct. The J32 and J35 used true cam profile shift rather than the vvt based iVtec. Also, the J series motors are all SOHC not DOHC like the K series motors, in fact the only production DOHC V6 honda has ever built have been in the NSX. Also, given the history of Honda/Acura's transmission reliability over the years specifically the ones mounted to the V6s I would be wary of pumping that much torque through the stock transmission. I personally own a 03 TL and I am happy enough that she is still running with 268K on the clock but the transmission is definitely the weakest link.

Great vid. sir, Nice sleeper, ALOT OF WORK TO DO WHAT YOU DID. MOST WON'T GO THAT FAR & YOU ARE DEFENITELY A CAR GUY NOW. Must be a pretty good auto. in that car to take the H.P. & torque from that motor. Funny as hell when you put the part in about the auto. & no air, NICE GREAT VID. AGAIN SIR.

All you really have to do is remove the strut bar, but even then its still tight lol
