That's one tough mom!
@10:10 Mom showed she's a total class act!
@6:23 Mom made it clear her child was rear facing. Had he not been rear facing, he could have sustained a serious neck injury given the forces involved in this crash.
"The statements of witnesses, the lack of apparent braking prior to impact, the driver's level of impairment and his status upon arrival of officers are all suggestive the driver fell asleep or lost consciousness prior to impact."

Dude in the truck is a real stand up guy. Yes he ran, but before that, even tho he was scared, he checked on the people in the other car to make sure they were OK. Then even tho he was still scared he would be blamed because he shouldn't be driving and he ran, he went back to make sure the record was straight and brought the truck owner (girlfriend) to help resolve the situation. Good on the cops for being understanding and not holding a bad decision in a moment of panic against him. And good on the mom for making sure the cops know he didn't just book it and he took the time to make sure people were ok first.

So many innocent people would be in jail. I just don't think most of you people understand the depths of drinking, or what it truly does to you. Because in small amounts its a party drug. But the moment someone takes too much you turn on them. But you know your limit right? Just like this guy "knows" his limit its not the person but the drug that is the problem, alcohol is a drug and if it were illegal there would be A LOT LESS PROBLEMS...but you fight to keep liquor legal so you can continue to have "fun" and have the gall to come here and complain about it, what a hypocrite

Why does that kill you when that's a standard punishment? There's mandatory sentences on the books for these offenses. When people speed, they account for just as many fatalities as DUI but we only give them a ticket when we catch them doing it. So imagine both actions result in the same amount of death, yet one of them a piece of paper and some money and the other is at least money, jail time, probation and a dui class. I'm sure you've been speeding before in your life and that literally put other people's lives at risk whether you want to admit it or not. Uh...you left the scene of an accident you were involved in. That's "fleeing the scene" regardless of if you were the cause of the accident or not. On top of that, despite the officer telling him numerous times that they weren't interested in anything aside from the accident, they just wanted to make sure everyone was okay, and that the believed him when he said he didn't cause the accident, he repeatedly kept saying he never did anything wrong and to believe that he didn't do anything wrong. I can only imagine the fear and anger she was feeling. Even despite all of that, she still wanted to give that black man recognition and let the cops know he wasn't at fault or anything. She seems like a really good person. Also, props to the cops for being compassionate and not making the black guy's life harder. I thought they handled the entire situation really well and professionally. I don't think I could treat the drunk driver with respect after seeing all the damage he caused. Edit: Ok ok, I understand lol. Infant seats are all rear-facing.
@Sin_Falimus
@Sin_Falimus Жыл бұрын
Well as far as treating the drunk with respect, if they don't then he could get the charges dropped or reduced, their goal is to be as respectful as possible to make sure he's taken in for all they can (even though the judge and prosecutor kinda just let him go)

@rubyluna452 infant carriers are always rear facing. You cannot get a forward facing infant carseat. They literally do not sell them. Forward facing carseats are only for children 2 or older or fits within the weight and height parameters of the convertible carseat.

...humm so if he were sober then the whole thing would be OK? ....stated that way the entire concept of DUI sort of sounds stupid. to me if some azzhole causes an accident like this he needs to go to jail PERIOD so why are we wasting time worrying about his intoxication levels? and if you think i am minimizing here what im saying is whatever punishment you think is appropriate for a "drunk" in this situation is 100% appropriate for a non drunk i mean how are a victims injuries lessened by the fact that the driver is sober?
