You don't need the adapter. I found out that with the new ones, you tighten the screw by hand, then release the clamp. This pulls the screw in tighter. Has not come off at all. None of this matters anyway because youtube has blocked all of my comments from being seen by anyone.

This adapter does not come with the tool but I'm glad they make it! My tool just got worn with use. Best tool ever!. The adapter is a blessing. I was using a different sanding attachment that would continue coming off until I found this adapter.

Mine didn’t come with the castle nut. Only the bolt, and it’s brand new. It’s not even listed on the parts list diagram. I’m buying a Festool. Their tools come functioning out of the box without fussy phantom parts.

I just got mine. The manual says it is the adaptor than the blade and finally the nut. But I do think urs make more sense coz with the adaptor first the blade does not have the mage net to help hold it when loosening and tightening

Hey Nick, I was just wondering if it damages the tool when you force it open, as you did at 1:10. I'm only asking because I did the same thing with mine. I was wondering if I damaged it anyways. I would love to get your opinion on it; I appreciate it hope you're having a great day.

It’s a good question. I think to know for sure you’d need to open up the tool and get a look at the mechanism. My guess is that the lock in the back makes it tighter because it pulls it in. It’s not preventing it from unscrewing and you’re forcing it to unscrew. You’re just unscrewing something that’s a little tighter. So possibly the only danger is in stripping the flathead part because the screw is very tight. This is only my educated guess though. Thanks 👍

Just bought one today in Uk! This piece does not exist! It only comes with an extra adapter to use a different fitment of blade. With a different screw as well.

Hi Nick, we have a Milwaukee M18 multi tool. I cannot get the bolt holding the blade off in order to use the sanding disk.

I’m having the same problem, sanding attachment is stuck on there and even with the quick release fully open the bolt is stuck over the studs of the adapter plate. I’ve cleaned with canned air and wd40 and no luck so far.
