Im a DG player (40k) and EC player (30k) but I'd still swap DG with Tsons and EC with WE. Death Guard have an incredible aesthetic, but at the end of the day they only rebelled because Big E stole Morty's kill and they only turned to Nurgle because Typhus killed a navigator and sailed them directly into the Garden of Nurgle. The Thousand Sons just have a more compelling tragedy. The Emperor's Children's backstory is just a worse version of the World Eater's fall if you boil it down. A broken legion becomes overwelmed by an obsession until they lose their humanity. Kharn and Angron are really cool until they become utterly mindless murder machines. Id also put the Word Bearers somewhere in high Based. Lorgar might be a wimp but he's written so well in The First Heretic as well as Argel Tal. I cant put them into based because they do quickly become cackling chaos mormons though.

@@ooglyboogly2989 To be fair they didn't say this is an objective list. Night Lords have some of the coolest characters in the whole setting so I can see why they're so high up. However I still think Iron Warriors deserved better but I'm also an Iron Warrior simp so I'm biased

I must be so far off base with my take on the Emperors Children. I love their colors and I love them and Fulgrim pre-heresy but I HATE them afterwards and that hatred goes doubly for Lucius and noise marines.

I don't like the World Eaters Legion but outside the legion they seem to make the best Chaos bros. Arrian Zorzi, Lheorvine Ukrism, Endryd Haar and so on. I can't think of any more lazy writing than with the Night lords. Their only slightly redeeming quality is Jago Sevatarion. Everything else is insulting cringe cookiecutter sawed thugs. I like to dislike Fabulous Bile but the other characters of the Empress Children mostly bore me. The best members of the Black Legion are not sons of Horus. The Iron Warriors are still the most competent Legion. I think the Thousand Suns and their endless potential of sorcery makes them the most fascinating Chaos Faction. And Magnus probably has the largest Chaos Sultanate in Imperial space right now.
