Actually no. If you play it at 0.25 speed you can see that he was holding the guitars weight entirely with the whammy bar and it slips out of his hand, when the guitar hits his thigh, you can then see the left strap come off. I am a big fan of Dragonforce, not shitting on him or anything, stuff happens.

I worked at a concert venue when I was in uni and the best recovery I've ever seen was by a Dutch band called "Drive Like Maria" and the lead guitarist broke a string mid song and she adapted to play the song on the remaining strings, whilst also replacing the string at the same time... by the time the song was finished, she just had to retune a bit and she was good to go.

You the guy is a real pro when he wasn't even the slight bit embarassed infront of thousands of people. This is the NUMBER ONE LESSON KIDS!!! NEVER EVER stop in the middle of a ho down! You always and I mean ALWAYS play the song through regardless of how bad it's going. It's RARE for a band to stop mid song and do it over. The only ones that have and can?
