Exploring the Cotswolds: Where to EAT

We're in the beautiful chocolate box Cotswolds where we visit Moreton in Marsh and Stow on the Wold and we have some of the local food such as cream teas and Cotswold cheese.
We aim to publish a video each week, every Saturday at 7am (UK time). We also live stream on the first Saturday of each month at 4pm.

We heading away in our MH for a couple of weeks south from Christchurch Tekapo, Oamarama then to Oamaru,then further south to my hometown Dunedin and down to Gore back up through Central Otago Wanaka & back home. Meant to be up to 30 degrees over the weekend, the start of summer! Keep well over there.

Great video! Why not try exploring the leyburn area, we went a few days ago for a second time and it is beautiful. I highly recommend going to aysgarth falls, forbidden corner and Bolton castle. The best campsite I’ve ever stayed on (Akebar park) I recommend if you ever decide to go.

Ah lovely video. We got married in the Manor House Hotel in Moreton, it’s a lovely little town but does suffer for being a thoroughfare to lots of other places - the traffic can be crazy!

A lovely area but expensive . Not been for a while . Loved the cheesy bit , reminds me of walking around Sarlat and being conned out of seventeen euros for a piece of cheese the same size you had there . Never mind , a good memory .

We were in Stow in August and had lunch at the Porch House and Emily Blunt, her husband, sister and brother in law Stanley Tucci were having lunch. We love Moreton but you do need transport so we hired a car for the week end left the moho on site. We also realised why we don't normally go away in August as everywhere was packed all week. Lovely area though.

@@HermanHitstheRoad we've been a few times to the Porch House but the eat out offer was on this time so very reasonable this time. The food is very good and they usually have a two course deal on. It was strange, when we walked in Stanley Tucci was facing us and we were a bit taken aback. My wife said that the women with him looked a bit like Emily Blunt and we couldn't really see the other couple. Then they moved a bit and we could see the other couple was Emily and her husband and when I checked on the interweb later(no signal in the pub!) Stanley is married to Emily's sister. They even took a doggy bag home so not much different to us.

@@HermanHitstheRoad Definitely, no one else springs to mind. It's a great area down there and we always have a good trip. We usually stay at Moreton on the way to the Eurotunnel as it's about half way. There is a very good indian in Moreton called The Spice Room if you are still there.

Brilliant filming Ads and Zoe,we thinking of going to Morton in the Marsh looks really nice especially the coffee shops and cafes,your scone debate,if you do what you did ,jam first then cream ,and cream first then jam,it’s brilliant because it’s like having 2 different cakes nice one,and the rubber band business going into the toilets,I’m thinking take a little bag ,as you go in the toilet,put the bleached band in little bag while you in toilet,then as you come out put band in the bleach know one will no any of the wiser,and no bleach on ya clothes,that’s what we will do in future,take care both.👍🤣

Cream then jam on the scones. Perfect cup of tea 🍵. We love cheese 🧀🧀🧀 especially when you can sample them. Amsterdam was great for cheese. Lavender cheese was amazing.

Herman Hits the Road Hi Ads and Zoe, yes we live in Germany and at the moment it’s just like the UK we can travel in Germany without any problem, but since most Germans are not travelling abroad it is hard to get a campsite or Aire at the weekends as they are nearly always full. As the holidays are ending slowly and just like the UK the COVID-19 virus is starting up again ☹️ just hope we don’t have another lockdown. We’ll just have to see what happens next year and with a bit of luck we can get across to the UK to see our grandson, family and friends.

You're not wrong, Zodiak. I always had the cream on first since cream is like butter. However, after trying both ways I prefer the jam on first so that the cream doesn't soak into the scone and I can taste it. Which is funny because I didn't like cream when I was a kid

@@HermanHitstheRoad Hi Ads, they can be. We went to Stow on the Wold in 2018, and called in Huffkins tea rooms for lunch, it was first class.
