If you think of the world of Minecraft and multiple people on the server and them living so close together, they already have an HOA in real life, not on camera. That’s why it can be chaotic because everyone has their own ideas and input (kinda why Doc lives 1000s of blocks away because he didn’t want to wait and take it easy this season, he wanted to G.O.A.T.). It’s not necessarily an American vs the rest of world HOA it’s just human nature.

For Ren's sulfur river, if you build it at least three blocks above the actual, more utilitarian waterway, you can cover the underside of the honey blocks with the red sandstone slabs. That way, you can't see the underside of the water (which perfectly preserves Ren's lore by sealing any glimpse of the blue of the water in), and nobody gets their heads stuck on the honey by accident. Sure, you lose the cool glimpses of the outside world from underneath in the water, but this way you can charge him extra for the creation of a custom tunnel, so it's a bit of a tradeoff for the sake of Big Business. Just a thought.

For the Sulfur river (it would take a lot of resource gathering/buying), if you used honey blocks above whilst mixing in yellow, orange & brown glass it would then allow you to see through below into the river which for the river bed could use a mixture of honey blocks, yellow, orange & brown concrete, yellow & orange terracotta, a mixture of red sandstone blocks and some magma blocks for lighting - it could create a really immersive and textural submersion as you go through that section of the river that would relate to Rens base (if you worked out a way to hide some campfires it could also be like the sulfur gas spilling out!) and create a really cool unique section of river!

Love the bridge. For Ren's sulfer river, most sulfer rivers have banks that have many minerals along them including cinnabar (red), gypsum (clear/cloudy crystal), pyrite (fools gold) and galena (gray), solified sulfer (lemon yellow). You could add those colors along the banks.

Grian and Gem have been getting into Snail on a Rail, I think you should start doing a Troll on a Stroll gag along the pathways around town and to hermits' bases. As part of the gag, perhaps the troll furnishes the interior of the cozy little troll-hole you built for him under the outer edge of the bridge...by visiting every hermit and making off with the pieces necessary to fashion one piece of furniture (literally chopped out of their builds) and maybe a significant memento (beacon, pet/horse/fish, custom record, mail not yet picked up, etc, all renamed so they can be easily returned when discovered).

I think it's too hot for what Ren has in mind, but it'd be so cool to have a lava waterway with striders! (plus, how many kills do you think it'd get by accident...) Another potential alternative would be soul soil + soul speed, which can be covered in carpet or slabs to make it look all sulfurous unlike ice/water + boats. The other option, depending on how you and the other hermits feel about it (and lag issues, I guess) would be to do something like what Tango's doing with the custom conveyor belt models? Have big 'sulferous goop river" custom models covering an ice/waterway for the boats to go along. (Technically you could do this vanilla with maps in item frames, so making a 5x5 or 10x10 custom model is just lagbusting.) As a sidenote, I wouldn't mind at all if the hermits added a datapack to control DisplayEntities the same way you control armorstands. And that seems nice because you could adjust the scale of the display (plus the culling hitbox) so it'd only take one custom entity to do a whole square of sulfur sea without fear of viewport culling!

Theme-wise, and water-wise, Gem has been doing things with inspiration from Dredge, but theres a kinda similar game Dave the Diver based around running a restaurant while saving an ancient underwater village of mermaids. It could be a cool counterbalance to gem's creepy fish, but youd probably need to carve out somewhat of a permiter to bedrock to fill it with water in order to put a base at the bottom of the sea ...that, idk, requires you to dive down to it with a few air pockets along the way, and pay some tropical fish to get in. But you could have a bancho sushi at surface level where you buy buckets of tropical fish.

I don't know if you read comments, but, if you want to do a navigable river in Ren's base and using sulphur. You don't need to do a 2 layers river. Ask a Redstone guy, and build a river “on demand” that would flood a part where the boat is and where it is going to be, while also deleting the part behind it. It would allow to do more design, more terraforming (maybe a canyon like), but it would probably need to be narrow (2, 3 or 4, depending on the piston position). You will need some calibrated skulk detector, where you have to use an item, like swinging your sword or something. It would be original.

Hm, for connecting the sulphur and normal rivers... what if it wasn't in two layers, but Ren's sulphur river would kind of flow gradually downwards from his biome and get "mixed" into the normal river roughly at water level. Or if the sulphur river is higher at the meeting point, maybe there could even be a little "sulphur fall", straight down to water. If the normal river splits Ren's planned area, there could be multiple sulphur rivers coming down to "pollute" the normal river. As sulphur is also more dense than water (that's an actual science fact btw), it would make sense that sulphur would sink to the bottom, allowing a layer of water to flow on top of it to make boat travel possible on the current river. I'm picturing how the normal river would flow towards a specific direction, with a gradually reducing amount of sulphur on the bottom and on the shorelines of the river towards that way, with the area surrounding the connecting points of those rivers being the most "messy"...

for the sulfur river you should make it darker where it's deeper and use the honey blocks on the shallows! brown and yellow teracotta under glass could be cool for the deep parts if you could make the glass layered, and it would be nice to have campfires underneath every now and then for the smoke! and there could be netherrack rocks somewhere if you wanted a rocky section :0 and you could use acacia if the river runs deep so you could have that "limestone sediment" look as if the river has worn down the landscape over time. definitely some dead bushes and mangrove root trees growing down (or sideways and up) to make them cling to the sides (or just roots and a dead tree stump). lots of potential with this project! i hope you have fun designing it

A quick Idea to add some more depth to the bridge, maybe you could move the stripped (non green) bamboo blocks in one block and/or half a block (by using stairs), and possibly using the green bamboo blocks to transition from the dark oak to the stripped (non green) bamboo blocks, so it l looks like your getting a glimpse of the bridges inner framework/structure. When I saw the screen at 21:09 I legitimately thought that was what you had done and thought "Oh thats a really cool idea/technique but relized you hadent as the timelapse gave us a closer, direct view. Regarding the sulfur river. Why not make a custom model of a slowly glooping sulphurous river? Then place those so it renders on top of the water and voila, you have regular boating, but with the sulfur look! It's not perfect though, you'd have to chose between lots of entities or it having issues rendering if you look straight down while in the river. It was totally inspired by Tango's conveyor belt design for his factory.

🤔If you run minecarts under slabs, you can see the head just above the slabs as an entity or player rides the cart. Can something similar be done with boats? Red sandstone for the orange color, birch for the yellow, hay bales under campfires under mangrove roots randomly placed on the edges, could be a pallet if boats do work like this. I’m guessing under-lit honey doesn’t show yellow under water? Which is too bad. 😔

I think it'd be funny to represent your two brain cells by building them as your base. Like, make a base designed off a neuron and join it to a second neuron.

Very unique build pallet for the bridge. Never seen that done before. I like it though. It's different so it stands out but in a good way.

Sulfur river, what if it's just a waterfall and is sort of mixing in with the river, same level and below - contamination etc. Sailable (a word sure), good for lore and could look pretty cool

If Ren wants to hide the river, it could start as a tunnel underground that goes under honey to be accessible and lore heavy. Maybe it could pass by Ren's storage unit.

I wonder what the surfer river would look like with yellow blocks underneath it? Terracotta, maybe?

I love the little trees/leafy arches that go over your path. Reminds me of the trees in Banora (ff7 crisis core place) where they grow over the paths. Im excited to see what you do in your circle. I love the river too. Great video FalseSymmetry!

You should make a waterfall you go down and decorate a wee cave to go through with little lantns and stuff or a scary cave. Then a bubble-vator to get back up to the surface

1:42 Weird observation, but you're the 3rd Hermit to accidentally turn the yellow concrete block at the shop. lol

I love the underside of the bridge! I love that you consider it from below, where the hermits seem to be enjoying ground/water level transport this season so far.

There's some great suggestions here for the sulfur river. Campfires for sulphur fumes, dead coral here and there for texture, yellow glass, maybe even a bigger pool than that small one. Custom smoke out of glass for the pool of sulphur would be super cool

to help advertise the glow lichen you could put it in the river tunnel and place some vines and glow berries to decorate.
