Hermitcraft 9: The Mob Side! (Ep. 83)

Welcome back! Today Cub is playing Minecraft on the Hermitcraft 9 server and we are creating a museum! Today we are moving in all the Peaceful and Neutral mobs into the top floor of the museum. Then we meet with Xisuma, display some more artifacts, and create a new megadisplay for our Royal artifiacts! I hope you enjoy!

@@DemBone In Scar's most recent Twitch stream (7/5/2023), we saw Cub asking for it. Actually, that stream is full of subtle foreshadowing. Scar offered to give the egg sometime in the future, in exchange for some work in Scarland. :D Also, there was a chat conversation between Ren and Doc throughout the stream (you can see it at 48:06, and probably at other points as well). It goes like this: Ren: Doc you busy? Doc: nah, just some grindy work Ren: kk let's get in a group Ren: plans to hatch Ren: and what not Ren: ;) Doc: made a group Ren: so did I :D

You need a sea lanterns or something in the axolotl area. It’s extremely hard to see with the blue glass

To make the museum even more interactive, and get ppl to walk around it, you could plant one of each flower in a pot “hidden” around the museum and do a scavenger hunt type informational. First added in 1.14, etc. maybe somewhere near a creature or item from the same release.

You could build a new section to the museum, dedicated to maps of historic places in Hermitcraft s9 and a wing with little sections dedicated to each hermit.

Something that might be good (and could lead to fun/funny interactions) would be to ask different hermits to sponsor wings. “The Hostile Mob Wing, sponsored by iBuy.” Of course at the cost of a charitable donation.

Great episode as always Cub! I think False's fishing rod might look better in a visible item frame, or held by an armor stand if that's possible, instead of floating on a dark background like it is right now. If it weren't for the name tag, it would be a little bit hard to see.

Cub, did you know you can get free-floating water and lava? This could be an interesting addition to the museum. First, you power a sticky piston so its head is preventing the fluid from moving (such as underneath it). Then you add some slime blocks to the end of the piston and hook them around an immovable block so that when the piston head retracts it fails to pull the slime.This prevents the fluid from getting updated when the piston is depowered, so the fluid won't flow into the block the piston head had occupied. -- If you do this on all sides, you get a free-floating fluid block. I like to add floating lava blocks to friends bases using this. This trick also works with falling blocks (like an anvil for decoration), making them hover in the air without having to put them on a string.

At 17:05, the one you though was a brute was a regular piglin, and I believe the head to the left of it is a hoglin. It's subtle but you can tell that the brute head has a scar over the eye that the one on the way didn't have

Nice how you can walk into most of the peaceful mob enclosures :) How about also putting down normal sand and gravel, so that people can directly see the difference, I think that could make sense. For the cat in the hat, could you place the hat upside down, so that Jellie sort of sits in it? I think that could also look cute :P

I'm really surprised that you didn't make the mobs setup more like an outdoor petting zoo... you could have had foxes farming berries while being adorable attractions. You could have also had the sniffer exhibit a small seed farm and charge for a couple seeds so hermits could breed and get their own egg without having to venture out into the wilderness.
