This will probably be lost in the shuffle, but if I understand things properly, Krauser's motivation isn't exactly "How could Leon still work for a corrupt government?" Krauser was on a mission called Operation: Javier. Javier was depicted in The Darkside Chronicles (though the remake here contradicts some aspects in that game). Krauser lost a lot of men, and in the end it was kept hush-hush and he was more or less left for dead. His problem with Leon is that while Krauser sacrificed so much for the US, the government instead forcibly recruited Leon and invested in him more. So Leon, a person who more or less didn't actually want to be in any of this, is being treated as the golden boy. Meanwhile, despite Krauser actually *wanting* to serve and be sent on these missions, he's overlooked. He became disillusioned and then went off after Javier.

Krasuer's notes mention Baker as one of the soldiers that helped kidnap Ashley originally. Jack Baker, from RE7, had a military career before he retired. I really want to believe that Capcom has tied the Baker family to the events of Resident Evil 4 and made Baker be implicated in the original abduction of Ashley.

Well the problem is that both Zoey and Ashley especially would also be up there in years. Since Shadow of rose takes place in the late 2030s it means that Ashley would be in her 50s or so and Zoey in her 40s. Which is relatively equivalent to the 'old guard' in age. Its interesting thinking about where they are gonna take the games now that most of the main cast are getting increasingly older. I wonder if we might just stay in the early ish 2000s instead of advancing the timeline

One note about the fighting knife: it has better base stats compared to the combat knife, but the combat knife has better max stats. I use it as a support knife for when the combat knife breaks. That said, there are multiple ways to play the game and no “right” way so long as they beat it. But if you’re doing a run where, say, you can’t visit the merchant, the fighting knife is a great option for the last gauntlet

I love Rebecca Black was the butt of everyones joke for so many years now her songs are gettin' freaking hummed. Also Davis selling his super durable Combat Knife for the weak AF Krauser knife simply because it said it's "highly durable" is the biggest facepalm of the series. Durability goes from 2.2 to 1.4. That being said they finish the game, they cross the finish line, it's just an amazingly facepalmy thing to watch.

The whole game up to this point explained repeatedly that it's amber that was extracted from deep underground. I think the squad just can't do reading comprehension or retaining information so it looking like a big rock just immediately overwrote the whole story in their brains. For Davis and maybe Alex at least. They're usually the ones who don't pay attention and just come up with random ideas.

It's clearly not actual amber, they just call it that because it's a hardened organic substance. I assume the underground fungus mass secretes it? Either way, I think Alex just has an unrelated theory that the parasite organisms will be revealed to be of alien origin eventually

I think the corporate greed/making bio weapons that can’t be contained - angle is getting a little stale. I would love to see a plot line with truly unexplained phenomena; maybe along the lines of The Thing meets Annihilation with some X-files movie thrown in. I think realistic alien horror is really underrated and underrepresented in games.

Oh man, I loved those Anniversary streams and actually still go back and watch them on occasion. I actually admittedly was a little disappointed that the FF7 one didn't happen, but I always just assumed it had something with Remake having come since then as well as the fact that those streams had the goal of playing though the whole game in one sitting and that felt like it might end up being a bit much for FF7. Those streams were the first thing I thought of when I saw the Mario RPG Remake announced.

I can't really see RE going full aliens, but I DO 100% expect they would tease that at some point only for it to just be man-made bio-weapons again, just like they did with vampires in Village. Honestly? Part of me is surprised that we've yet to have a RE where you end up in space for whatever reason. Fighting zombies on some sort of moon base or space station. EDIT: Though now that think about it, that feels kind of redundant with Dead Space existing I guess.

Quick reaction times, being observant while under pressure, deductive-game reasoning, and intuition may not be his forte for games.
