I find it interesting that everyone is writing off this episode, but Din and Bo now have official relations with a planet that uses domed cities that are similar to what was on Mandalor. I can easily see this as laying the groundwork for the eventual rebuilding of their planet.

Thanks for saying it! I'm so tired of the complaints. For the first two seasons, people whined about not having enough exploration of Mandalorians, now that we are meeting and exploring Mandalorians and their factions, people are whining about not enough Din or Grogu. I'm sorry, they said this season would be about uniting the Mandalorians and reclaiming Mandalore... didn't they? Din NEVER WANTED THE DARKSABER...he isn't power hungry. BO SAW THE MYTHOSAUR FOR A REASON...and Bo earned respect from the CotW through those "filler" episodes. Geez. Can't make anyone happy, I guess.

I love Grogu and Mando, but honestly - we already got enough and they still have the same relationship. Now we are finally focusing on Mandalorians as a whole story of the title culture. Its finally what I wanted from the start for it to be - exploring titular mandalorian and his 'tribe'. Series 3 ending with their mission of retaking the home planet and uniting the clans couldnt be more fitting for a show with such title! Also SPOILER FOR EP 7 --- ... ---> empire general fascinated with Mandalorian culture and making his own imperial-mandalorian squad to fight them? P-E-R-F-E-C-T! I would also be fine with them making time jump during next season. Perhaps if they retake Mandalore, Grogu could grow up there a bit to the next level of speech at least? Take his relationship with his 'father' master to next level. We know he wont grow up much, as he is from the species that ages super slow, but we could take it at least this far with him as a youngling.

Im gonna give the rest of the season a chance but tbh to say say that Lizzo and Jack Black felt "normal" to me indicates a lack of imagination. I don't have a problem with either of them IRL but to me it broke immersion to have them in this. I'm in the same boat that I just wanna experience as much of this world as possible. Why wouldn't there be a post-Imperial Wall-E world that is totally utopian with a Separatist sympathizer. There's all kinds of crazy shit still going on in the universe at large. This is also huge development for Bo and Din. They have so much respect for one another now and Bo can finally bring everyone together. I expect 7 and 8 to be big potentially crossover episodes. This season has been so incredible. Mr. Lloyd as the heavy (he would've gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those meddling Mandos) was a slice of Scooby Doo. The 'Droid bar brought up not only some good philosophical points but the reality that for them, The New Republic Sucks! Seems that Placia 15 is a great place for second chances all around. One of the criticisms about The Force Awakens that stuck with me as an enjoyer of media on a spiritual level was "The movie delivered everything we expected, and absolutely nothing we didn't even know we wanted". The review itself is beside the point, my biggest takeaway is the expression "what I didn't even know I wanted": always be open to things that I didn't know I wanted to see. Definitely have expectations, but don't be watching with a judgmental stance about how the media matches with the expectation you had. No matter how good the version of the story in your head was going to be, that's not the only good outcome there could have been, not even necessarily the best. First point, that's going to ruin your own experience. Something goes off track from your expectations and already all you do as you watch is complain and think about what should have been and not looking into where the show actually is going. Which brings to the second point, your judgment is going to be horrible. You stopped paying attention to what's actually happening and why and how, how would you make a proper deep dive and analysis? That's how you end up with ridiculous takes. (Like for example this episode, I've seen comments that Disney is disrespecting Din as evident from the Duchess knighting Grogu after Din did the hard work and, like, are you serious?) It's really great to watch level-headed reactions like yours, enjoying the ride and able to understand and analyze. Forces of positivity are really what all of us could benefit from.

Part of my take with this episode, which I actually liked better than last week which had to contend with a massively great end of the Bad Batch. Is that Jack Black's character was to show the Amnesty program is not all rotten to the core. That there are good people who want to do right by their new circumstance. He easily could have been the baddie and was meant to question whether he was due to the A on his chest. I think it shows us that not everything about the program is failing just as the New Republic is not working as hoped but not completely a disaster as well. At the end of the day I thought it was a CSI galaxy episode with a critical end. I think head canon is messing everyone up... Grogu must be a Mando-jedi, Din will be the Mand'alor, what if neither of those are correct. What if Grogu just wants to be a good him and his dad just wants that too. Also wanting to skip to the point, to me that ignores the fact that side stories can definitely contribute to amazing stories.

Really insightful stuff as always homies, on the Armour Wars thing producer Nate Moore said they pivoted from a TV series to a movie cause the story they have is have big and expanse it can only be done justice on the big screen.

You guys made an excellent point about season length. We use to have to wait 24 episodes for plot payoff, and sometimes we didn't and it extended to the finale of the following season. People are FAR too spoiled by the episode count of these mini-seasons when it comes to setup and payoff

I couldn't agree more with you guys on this - I love that they take the time to explore the world and characters, and have some fun or do something different. Same with Bad Batch. I don't know that I would be so invested in them if they didn't take the time to do that.

Hector hit the nail on the head. This episode is a fun sidequest in the best way. I didn't play a lot of Mass Effect, but this episode felt like a mission you could play in that game. People can complain all they want about the cameos, but the Star Wars universe is a weird place. Jack Black and Lizzo don't stand out in a universe with Samuel L. Jackson and Harrison Ford. Considering how the next episode went down, people were crapping all over a great episode before another one rolled around. Bryce Dallas Howard did an excellent job with this episode. She definitely should direct a movie soon based on this episode and her previous ones. Edit: I really hope that Heroes Reforged can do those cosplay ideas. That would be awesome.

I love you fellassszzzzz! Totes agree on the annoying comments people have on a series that isn't even done yet. Just watch it and STFU.. if ya don't like it, well then don't watch it. it's really simple. 😁

I don’t get the dislike for this episode. I enjoyed it very much. I’m currently watching clone wars for the first time and this legit felt like a live action episode of later season clone wars. I can’t wait to see how Plazir and its inhabitants fit in later down the line

Did you notice the pad with a triangle on Din's right arm that looks kinda the same with the KZbin's award for the 100k followers ?

Great reaction. Even better explanation on how you judge episodes, and the season as a whole (one that I share). For myself, this was a fun excursion, tied in with THREE all-star cameos, giving the feel of a live-action version of Clone Wars. Even with this side adventure, like with other episodes, you never know what might be important down the line...be it for the current season, future seasons, and/or even for another production(s). The episode didn't need to pivot back to the larger story arc. Yet, considering how it was done (and the time factored in), I'm happy with the execution. Now, we have two remaining episodes in a season that gives me a feel that it's building up to something much grander than itself (and emphasized in SWCE 2023).

Jack Black playing Jack Black playing a role that’s basically Jack Black. Love it. Jack Black is like John Wayne or Arnie - Seems they play themselves and people just write to the celebrities caricature….if it works- why change it. Loved seeing Christopher Lloyd as well!

This episode reminds me of the early Marvel and LA Times comics. The ones published between ANH and TESB. The Jaxxon years, if you will. Love it!

I didn't recognize Christopher Lloyd at all until the credits since I haven't seen him in much and he has less hair but the voice seemed familiar.

I said it before when Bo-Katan saved Din and I’ll say it again, ALL HAIL QUEEN BO-KATAN KRYZE!!!! She needed to fall out of favor with her fleet because she needed to go back to her roots on Mandalore as well as spend time with the Children Of The Watch to completely rethink what it means to truly be Mandalorian. The Armorer was very wise when she said that Bo-Katan can walk both worlds, she can TRULY unite her people and finally take back their homeworld. And Lizzo was okay, but freaking JACK BLACK and CHRISTOPHER LLOYD! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯These men were such a massive part of my childhood. Also I’m 100% for droid rights!

This was a fun episode. I thought all of the guest stars did well. I am glad you guys liked it. It has received a bit of hate online, even from Reactors that I usual appreciate. Like others said, what might seem inconsequential now, could end up playing an important role here.
