Hijacking the pinned comment to point out a small detail that I'm curious if anyone else noticed or questioned. In Far From Home... Beck/Mysterio says Earth 616... though we find out he was blowing smoke and wasn't from another universe... he somehow managed to get the universe name right. In this movie... when America and Strange get to 838... they come across a memory bank/shop thing which was very similar to Beck's B.A.R.F. Coincidence? Or is there some connection there? I know not everything is connected but just an interesting/odd thing.

Guilty for seeking out spoilers, but I’m the type of person that can compartmentalize and savor leaks versus in theatre surprises. It’s so hard when you can’t make plans to see the movie until the day or two after, but in a way it lets you pay attention to smaller, juicier details if you’re not too emotionally distracted from the larger reveals. Still guilty tho 😂

if you're not correct it will make this movie the most well done mistake in film history. it's a very dangerous move to take a left turn from good momentum (off Wanda vision) as a big Wanda fan, I was disappointed enough that the extreme high quality of the film was not enough to dampen it and I find myself far less interested in Dr Strange as a character and the direction of the multiverse story line as a whole. if Wanda is not redeemed quick... it will stay as a tainted example of story telling

BIG SPOILER ALERTS IN THIS COMMENT, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! I was thrilled throughout the entirety of this movie, it was good to see that even after the departure of Scott Derrickson that the movie was able to keep some of the horror elements, but now I'm curious how much further he was originally wanting to go. That said, I'm stoked that the MCU has finally acknowledged that Scarlet Witch is the most powerful character and its not even close. Given that she's not the titular character and it's her first movie, I was pleased with the treatment of America Chavez, especially with the resolution of the conflict. The "you had the power all along," trope can be annoying, but it was handled in a plausible and ultimately satisfying way, knowing that she can't go toe to toe with SW when she's not holding back so she had to win another way. Here's the real spoiler part, and I can't believe this secret was able to kept for the entirety of the production, but Captain Carter was expected, Maria Rambeau as Captain Marvel was expected, Professor X was expected, but my mind was sufficiently blown when not only did they put in Black Bolt with Anson Mount in the role, but then fucking John Krasinski as Mister Fantastic?! I didn't care anymore whether the movie was good or not at that point, I was gonna love it no matter what because I'm a huge fan of not only the Fantastic Four but also the characters and properties surrounding them (most notable the Silver Surfer/Galactus). I'll absolutely be going to see it again, I loved every minute of that experience.

I agree. I think he would be and was a great Reed. I absolutely don’t agree with Hector with the diversity issue. The group has been white since their creation, being pissed if they end up all white is ridiculous and uncalled for. Everyone has loved these characters as they are for decades feeling forced to change it because people want something to complain about is nonsense. They have changed it with MBJ as Torch and he was fine at it same as Chris Evan’s was. You don’t need to change original content all the time. We aren’t making a white Black panther or storm or whatever. I don’t agree with only casting to fill a quota in anything man, woman, colour, Cree etc. I think the best person for the job should be hired or cast with no Bias on other attributes they have. If they are all white then cool, mixed race, cool all black cool, just hire the best fit for the job and give the fans an amazing film. All that being said I sure would like if they let Idris be Reed (because variant)so he wasn’t totally wasted with the tiny role as Heimdall 👍🏻.

I think Wanda should maybe share top billing with Doctor Strange. She had a ton of screen time. The cameos definitely did not take away or steal the show. They were short but sweet. I like the theme of both Wanda and Strange being so incredibly powerful but unable to get what they want. Wanda can't get her kids back. Strange can't get Christine back. All that power is ultimately meaningless and they have to accept that there is nothing they can do. It's also nice that our Strange is the best Strange because he learned to give up control. In a way, Christine saved the universe by teaching him that.

After the horrific and satanic scenes that were shown in the movie, you cannot tell me that Marvel will never make an MCU Ghost Rider reboot movie. Speaking of Robbie, so if the Darkhold was destroyed in EVERY universe, what would that mean for the ending of Agents of SHIELD S4 where we last saw Robbie carrying the Darkhold to another place? Regardless of whether or not AOS was set in the MCU or in a different universe, I have a feeling that we might eventually see this loose end for the character tied up due to how the book he was last seen carrying was destroyed.

Allow me to give you my favorite moments of the film. Spoilers, obviously. 1. The brief, but memorable, sequence where Strange and America hurtle through realities before stopping at Earth-838. I want to see a hero from that paint reality now. 2. The reveal of the Illuminati (or Illuminati confirmed). Makes me wonder if Marvel Studios will take a stab at the Inhumans soon (Marvel Television handled the ill-fated TV series). 3. Doctor Strange vs. Sinister Strange. Also known as, the fight where they weaponize musical notes.

Adam from pReviewed had an interesting take about the structure of this one - it wasn't so much a standalone movie as two hours of Marvel content. My main issue with the movie was Wanda's storyline. It felt like her character development in Wandavision was kinda ignored a bit. I also think that the movie was so jampacked that it needed some time to breathe. That Illuminati fight should have been longer. Defeating Reed and Prof. X should not be that easy 😫. America Chavez' backstory could be a bit longer too. But Olsen easily steals the spotlight. Incredible performance!

I think Wandavision was more than embraced 200%. Many references to tv show, with dark fingers of people holding Darkhold + Wanda transferring her obsession with ressurecting her dead family from her husband, which she accepted was dead - to her imaginary children. I think it was more than realistic + she was clearly manipulated by power the Darkhold promised her. I loved how quickly she became agressive to get what she wanted.

There is a Moon Knight comic (I think it is the Scarlett redemption part two) that Wanda is looking for, not redemption, but salvation. Wanda and Marc were linked telepathically and he is trying to find her to help save her. There was something very angelic with a lurking demonic feeling to that issue and I think that would be really cool if they tried to translate that to the screen for Wanda.

I really enjoyed MoM, but man was it fast-paced. For me, the pacing made it feel more like a cinematic comic book than an MCU installment. I think allowing more time to let the film breathe a bit would have helped. Literally from the first 10 seconds till the ending it’s non-stop action and tension. Raimi said his first cut was much longer (by about 35 minutes) so I wonder how much of that could have changed the pacing. I’m torn on the usage of cameos. I loved seeing them on the screen but was hoping for them to be featured longer than they were. This almost feels more like a setup film than this grandiose climax that some were expecting since it follows Wandavision, Loki, and No Way Home. But I give Marvel props for trying something different. Between this and Moon Knight, Marvel Studios is starting to take some risks and I love that.

Yep. It felt like a filler instead of thriller. As it's own fun horror romp & action flick, it's sort of a satisfying mess, but to grow the ongoing narrative within the MCU (& for the WandaVision storyline) it's like HUH? Just feels like a badly written comic book movie. I LOVE Strange & Wanda but I wasn't even emotionally drawn in. Definitely needed more quiet moments, like 10-15 more minutes. They literally only went to two universe and that's it. I thought it was like Loki where shit is about to happen because the multiverse is breaking. But no, they focused on Wanda's grief. They also didn't explain why she's not into Vision suddenly. She only had one line about him and that's it they didn't bring up Vision anymore.

I went into this mostly worried about where it would leave Wanda's character at the end, whether she would be a straight up "evil" character going forward, maybe the next Avengers villain. Naturally, I was relieved to see her come to her senses and do something helpful in the end, and I liked that she had no interest in "ruling" when she figured out what the Wundagore temple was for. What I found most disappointing was how blunt and extreme her antagonistic turn was. I thought she would maybe learn about America from Strange and gradually hatch a plan to betray them while starting as an ally, but she just straight up was the mustache-twirling villain from the start, and it was revealed almost immediately. It just didn't make sense how readily and brutally she started murdering people only to later claim to be a person who "would never hurt anyone." This character with these motives would not behave this way. It just feels like she was stupidly written. It seems the Dark Hold doesn't turn you evil, it just lowers your IQ.

I don't think Wanda was done dirty but there definitely needed to be something at the beginning to hint more at how much the darkhold was corrupting her over that time jump. Without that her motivation just doesn't hit as much as it should have. This movie wasn't for me, I didn't hate it but I also didn't love it as a whole and I definitely didn't like the B plot with Christine...it just felt shoved in imo and that's probably because of the massive time since the last Dr. Strange movie. It solidified that I REALLY don't like Rami's camp and cheese outside of actual horror movies/shows though I did love how much he pushed the pg-13 rating.

While I liked the movie, I didn't love it. Honestly, because it under minds the great performance of Elizabeth Olsen in Wandavision. Although she was sassy and brutal in this one (which I am up for it), it feels like the creators of this movie did NOT watch Wandavision, and I really felt that despite her great performance here, Elizabeth Olsen is doing another character completely different from that incredible one from the previous show, which was quite unfortunate to me. Plus, I really feel like this movie could've benefited from addition 30-40 minutes in order to further introduce America Chavez, her past and present. Because at the end of the day, we can't just have a tv show as an introduction or an origin story for every new character in the MCU. It'll be too crowded and messy. I also believe this movie did NOT stick the build up from Wandavision, Loki and NWH. This story felt quite disconnected from the others. I mean Kevin Feige himself said the Wandavision-NWH-MoM will be connected. I am sorry but I did NOT see any connection between these 3 "acts". That was the main reason I did NOT like the movie as much as I hoped before.

I’ve noticed this a lot in marvel movies and maybe because they always have different directors and writers for each movie handling the characters. And sometimes the change is a welcome one like Taika Waititi changing Thor’s character but other times it becomes like this when it’s just like “this character is inconsistent in how they behave and it’s weird.” It felt like Wanda’s whole story in WandaVision was about healing and coming to terms with trauma, but now she’s back on her bullshit. Not criticizing Olsen’s performance bc she really was terrifying but I’m just like wondering what her arc is.

I love it, this is the new standard for me, no1 MCU movie, and this is why: I think with each film, MCU movies got more and more substance into it - not to mention how I enjoyed MK focused on Egypt, with all the culture, and actors and music involved locally (btw, how awesome is the music in some key moments in Strange?) - what was I saying.. yeah, balance.. great develompment on characters, not all heroish, not all pure evil / I enjoy the collateral damage as much as they can picture it, because normal ppl suffer great in MCU / I think I could easily follow the plot, with all the craziness that happened, yeah, they did a great job with that / CGI has nothing in the face of real make-up :)) / the horror was the cherry on top, this is not Cinderella, this sets up for the real potential of "mystical" MCU.. lost the rest of my thoughs, was really amazing.. PS: thx for the info on Charlize's character - I love her, always thought she can fit in as a MCU character PS PS :D: the nitpicking doesn't come from fans, it's the new disease from this century, ppl who think they are allowed everything, who complain every time for the food, internet connection, flight delay, traffic .. instead of being greatfull for all the nice things we have now, that not just 50 years ago weren't even invented or whatever .. maybe watch some 70's, 80's movies, than they will appreciate 2022 .. Appologies for all that rambling Cheers!

Rainn Wilson as Dr. Doom! lol I like how this movie shows that Wanda either pulled something from the Multiverse to create her kids in WandaVision... or maybe she had been dreaming of them for some time before those events happened. I was sad to see her story took the turn here, but it took her "kids" being scared of her to shake her from the mindset and then free the entire Multiverse of a certain evil. Maybe the next show for Wanda would be a therapy arc with Agatha.

Instead of a Brotherhood/Magneto arc, I'd love to see her redemption take place in the context of a Children's Crusade/Secret Wars arc. She gets hooked up with Doctor Doom for a while, maybe while she's doing some soul searching in Eastern Europe (Sokovia -> Latveria). Seeking redemption, seeking a better way to find her kids among the incursions that are happening. Doom is trying to use her power to his own ends, if not flat out steal it from her in her vulnerable moment post-MoM. She ends up being the one to put a stop to him. Etc.

Yeah one moment that probably got all the Marvel comic fans excited was when Reed and Clea said incursion which proved they were going to adapt the Secret Wars, the 2015 one not the original one. In one line that fit the story but hinted at more so it didn't seem out of place.

Overall very good movie, great time watching it. The downside of this for me is that I would have like for Strange to be a little more challenged, like by a death of someone he cares about, like Christine or Wong, or with him being completely defeated by Wanda, which he never is in the movie.

As always, was eagerly anticapting your video after watching the movie. Always a joy to hear from Adam, Hector and Agustin. Let's go for the 100k guys!
