What I really liked about their powers was how they displayed how each magic is different. Strange's magic is geometric, calculated, you can see how it gets from point 1 to point 2 to point 3, while Wanda's is completely random and creepy. You don't know what her magic is going to do, point 1 is completely random from point 2 which is way off tangent from point 3. You could almost say her magic was chaotic.

What didn't sit right with me was the way they erased any sympathy the viewers previously had for Wanda. Don't get me wrong, her as a homicidal multiversal menace was spectacular, but it seemed like too much of a leap to go from her confronting her grief, promising to make amends for her mistakes in Westview at the end of Wandavision, to suddenly sending interdimensional monsters to track down America Chavez and steal her powers (aka kill her!) so that she could get her children in another alternate universe. The way they set up the trailers, I had hoped that her corruption by the Darkhold would be shown throughout the movie instead of in the first act, so that her decision to murder anyone who stood in her way seemed to be more of a rash decision in a moment of weakness, than some grand scheme that happened prior to America arriving in Earth 616. Imagine those interdimensional beasts weren't sent by her but they were drawn to America's power, and that Dr. Strange did seek out Wanda's help when Chavez came to their universe because of her knowledge of spells and witchcraft. They could have explored the Darkhold as a sort of tool to try and keep the monsters at bay, while attempting to reunite America with her parents and send them home. In this instance they could have really emphasized the main protagonists as individuals who had lost their families (Strange, America, and Wanda), and who could empathize with one another in their desire to find their families. But once Wanda starts using the book too frequently for this altruistic purpose, and then discovers her perfect alternate universe in their pursuit of getting America home, one where she has Billy and Tommy in her happy dream home, she realizes America could be harnessed for her own purposes, and THAT's when she switches from being Wanda to becoming the Scarlett Witch, her most fearsome form that brutally murders some of the most powerful superheroes known across the multiverse in order to hang onto the version of her perfect life. That's where it becomes the power struggle for "who holds the knife" and pits her against Strange and the Earth 838 Illuminati. It would be far more satisfying to see someone who had believed they had put their past behind them and was trying to make amends for the damage they'd done, only to face their temptation a second time and fail to overcome their true desires. Far more relatable and heartbreaking instead of making her outright evil and duplicitous.

I definitely agree. What we got for the explanation is alright (Darkhold corrupts and in the year and a half since Wandavision she's lost herself), but the situation you described would've been a lot better. Yah I definitely thought the “now I’m bad Wanda” was too sudden and needed to be addressed more. I think that a perfect opportunity would have been when Xavier was rooting around in her head. He could have accessed a quick montage of memories of the Darkhold tormenting her into a breaking point, at which point the intrusion would have triggered her Illuminati homicide rampage. Then her murder of those guys would have had a more direct trigger, and we would really have gotten to see her get broken so her heel turn would feel less like a plot device.

It's so weird how Wandavision is required viewing for this, yet also was a bad setup for this Wanda because they didn't show her break bad enough. Sure, she trapped Agatha in Agnes, and she started using the Darkhold for like a few seconds of screen time. But she also showed remorse for her actions to the townsfolk, she made up with the fact that Vision died, and she just generally understood that she was dangerous. Honestly, just one more episode as an epilogue would have paid dividends for showing the fallout in Westview, how SHIELD is handling it and the various associated characters with them, Vision's coming to grips with his current state, and most importantly, how the Darkhold starts to really manipulate Wanda. Such a shame, because MoM Wanda is so terrifying and such a good villain that I wouldn't change anything about her in this movie. Really, it's the setup prior to this movie that should have changed.

I don't think you can really fault WandaVision though because it came out first. It's the job of the writers/directors for future content (aka MoM) to be up to date on previous material, and to build from it. Also if they want to take a different direction from previous material that is fine, but they need to find a way to explain it that makes sense. The idea of the Darkhold corrupting Wanda could work, but they needed to pay attention to how it was doing so at the end of WandaVision. The final scene leaves the impression that Wanda's kids are literally in need of her help, but in MoM that is not reflected in her mentality at all. It doesn't make sense to blame WandaVision for that though because of what I mentioned above.

I think the main problem is the title. They shouldn't be naming the movie Multiverse of Madness when it isn't entirely about Multiverse. It's just like Wanda chasing Strange and America for the entire movie and it didn't showcase the Multiverse element. That's the main reason why people are disappointed because they are expecting a Multiverse adventure rather than just 3 total universes in the whole movie.
@AsterDreamweaver2 жыл бұрын
I feel like the movie needed more time to let some of the characters breath and show more depth. We never really have enough time to truly be introduced to America Chavez, to connect with her character, and become invested. We needed more time devoted to showing Wanda's decent into madness from the cathartic realization she had at the end of WandaVision to slipping into corruption. The suddenness of her heel turn and almost immediate reveal of her being the villain chasing America felt to just undo her previous arc and instead of showing us the writers just chose to tell us it happened. It had some good moments and ultimately I think we got to see some character development of Dr. Strange it was ultimately at the expense of destroying the previous character arc of Wanda.

I wasn't exposed to any spoilers so my expectations with this movie were high, but logically, I knew there was still tons of time and opportunities ahead if it turned out to be underwhelming. The only trailer I watched was the one after 'No Way Home', but I know a lot of people heard about some crazy cameos and actors, and maybe these rumors raised the bar for this movie's outcome, which was definitely fair. In terms of plot holes, the only thing I am still trying to figure out was how Tommy and Billy existed in other Universes and also why Vision was not present at all in any dream/reality. I think they made Wanda kill the Illuminati so quickly because of everyone's expectations; most of our heroes have had the same mentality when handling minor and major threats. Thanos was a perfect example and there was not many options left once he was at everyone's doorstep. With Wanda being OP, I think it was more to solidify what Mordo was explaining to Strange about the dangers of Dream Walking and Wanda certainly left a lot of consequences for Universe 838. She killed basically the head of the X-men, a member of the Fantastic 4, the Inhuman King, and that Universe's Captain Marvel and Captain Carter. X-men and the Inhumans are definitely gonna want answers and maybe even revenge. As for Captain Carter, this Universe no longer has one to defend it, in addition to no longer having a Captain Marvel to monitor/protect the other planets in that universe. On top of all that, Reed Richard's death is a lot more than just the Fantastic 4 losing their leader. We saw that this universe had developed and utilized Ultron bots, which I am assuming was by him. If the bots ever malfunction or show signs of Ultron, Reed is no longer there to fix it. Additionally, Reed is also the son of Nathaniel Richards who is a Kang variant. All in all, with Wanda removing all these major heroes from Universe 838, she has 100% set this universe up to be ripe for the taking. There is no one there to defend it from a Kang invasion.

(Bruce's comment about how he felt his "role may be cut" from the movie rings interesting when you consider he was, and was only brought back for a small joke role because Raimi and him are so close.) I agree. I thought this movie was gonna be about the barrier between universes collapsing and having evil variants from other universes fighting each other kinda like how Kang described. In this movie it didn’t really seem like the multiverse was at stake. And I don’t feel bad about universes dying since the TVA pruned them all the time anyways lol
@logandoove52652 жыл бұрын
I mean I don’t feel bad about other Dr. Strange destroying a universe with the darkhold and potentially Wanda destroying more. There wasnt supposed to be a multiverse anyways. We need another multiverse of madness but with some badass Kang variants fckin sh!t up!
@logandoove52652 жыл бұрын
Another note, maybe have it so different leaders of different universes (Avengers, Illuminati) fight each other to try to make their universe the only one left standing, how Kang did. Maybe have it so they end with an agreement to allow the multiverse to exist, as fighting each other might destroy all the universes and leave nothing left. The TVA can help keep an eye on multiverse hopping, not allowing it, but allowing the multiverse to exist parallel to each other. And it’ll set up a multiverse of madness 2 where the Kang variants become multiversal terrorists in a way and try to destroy each other’s universe, knowing that the other Kang wants to destroy their universe. That’ll be MADNESS!!

I enjoyed the film, but I didn't really have any moment where I was truly like OMGAAAA & gripping the edge of my seat like I was during No Way Home (or any MCU film before). Perhaps I just knew it was action action horror lite. Couldn't emotional latch on to any character at all.

Yeah I feel the same way. I feel like they could've fixed this at least in part by having a more intense finale where strange and wanda directly fight through different universes or something crazy like that. It felt like this ending was a bit tame compared to what we've seen before. In terms of emotional attachment, I wish strange had a bit more personality. He seemed a bit low energy at times, and I think that might've contributed to it. Also I think it was really important for them to show wanda's direct descent into madness, and I don't think they did that well enough. Overall I actually really liked the movie though!
@colonelsanders16172 жыл бұрын
I do agree that it would have been cool to save John Krasinski until a bit later. Let Professor X do all the exposition because Patrick Stewart is great at that and then let John Krasinski be the “oh heck yeah” moment that Ryan mentioned in one of his other videos. He could have shown up when Wanda is just about to kill Dr Strange at some point later in the movie and then he saves Strange and then puts up a good fight against Wanda and THEN gets turned into string cheese. Like that cameo in that context would’ve been enough to cover the oh heck yeah moment and also give Krasinski a more useful role to fill other than cannon fodder number 2
@newtiger0072 жыл бұрын
Sadly I was underwhelmed too. A few of the issues which bothered me were no 616 Mordo, other Mordo being defeated by a 10ft hole in the ground, smartest man in world telling Wanda how to defeat BlackBolt, Peggy/Maria being military trained yet standing there as 2 of peers are killed, Captain freakin Marvel being killed by a statue, not a single reference to Vision, why is America named America, and no reference to Loki or Spider-Man time and reality missteps.

I think the problem with the MCU now is that they're always holding back, saving the something special for somewhere down the line. I think they need to just act like they may never get the next, next movie, and aim to just make the best movie they can with what they're currently doing.

That is a horrible idea. You need structure, or else you get a Zack Snyder movie, blowing throwing 5 movies worth of material in on bloated one. The priority should be telling a focused story that doesn't do more than it should - that way the larger stories down the line have a larger impact.

What makes is no way home so beautiful was that from an acting standpoint, Tobey and Andrew, were playing themselves and that adds more realism to the movie. Has nothing to do with overhyping the movie. The story was ridiculous and all over the place. Wanda's whole ark didn't aline with end of wandavision. America Chavez was awful. A babysitting movie. She just needed a pep talk and then she contolled her powers no problem. Wong falling off a cliff on his back and then climbs back up. Makes Blackwidows death look like a joke. Illuminati was such a let down. Why even include any of it? Wanda uses reality warping to change an entire landscape, but then shoots red farts for the rest of the film except when the illuminati was in front of her and made them look like weaklings....OH BUT DR STRANGE AND AMERICA CAN RUN AWAY IN A TUNNEL... Where's her reality warping abilities now??! Having unlimited realities to goto but no Vision, and just kept going back the same one with Wanda home and the kids in the other room. Horrible execution through and through. Felt like an unreal "Scarlett Witch kills the Marvel Universe" Acting was great, visuals good, storyline was complete trash. There were too many plot holes and issues I had with the movie, which made the experience super underwhelming: 1) Wanda is too powerful to continue to the MCU. The fantastic 4 and the inhumans are coming and they can literally be shredded by her in a second. Gives the feeling like what can they accomplish in the MCU now when villains like Wanda exist? 2) Charles Xavier is supposed to be insanely powerful, powerful enough to literally extinct the entire mutant population in Logan. The way he died just was straight up stupid. Not only could have he used her mind to communicate with the pre-darkhold Wanda, but his death scene just really pissed me off in general and makes the most powerful mutant seem pathetic (yes Xavier is meant to be much stronger than scarlet witch in the comics) 3) I didn’t relate to America Chavez at all, like they really didn’t touch into her personality or her background, simply because this movie was doing too much. Also they didn’t mention she was a nexus being or what a nexus being is. 4) I get that Stranges hedonism is supposed to make him a threat, but every character in the movie spent the entire movie trying to villanize 616 strange when he was literally doing the right thing and Wanda was exploding people 5) Wandas entire motivation and how she was about it made absolutely no sense. She literally has the ability to posses another variant, so why did she need america Chavez powers to travel to another multiverse to be with her kids? She’s literally possessing them and can have her kids?! Also the whole possession is quite illogical in general. Wanda didn’t really even care about her reason because the second she possessed the other Wanda, she was about to walk out and kill immediately and only stopped for her kids when they called her 6) the other Wanda in the Illuminati universe was mad selfish. The moment she came out of the possession, she immediately left and didn’t even care that her body was used to rip apart all these people? Wandas character makes no sense. The dark hold is used to corrupt our Wanda then what’s the reason for the other Wanda to be so selfish? 7) what the hell happened to strange at the end? Is he corrupted by the dark hold? Because he seemed fine in the post credit scene. 8) yeah cool Charlene Theron is clea, but no one I went with knew who the fuck she was lol Overall I just felt this movie was trying to do too much, and I really did hate Wanda by the end and she can never be redeemable. And I have a feeling they might try to make her redeemable. Wanda Is evil and she’s capable of doing evil. She didn’t have the dark holds influence in west view she tortured those people on her own accord, and didn’t even apologize for it. She imprisoned Agatha, you know, a witch trying to figure out who she was because she was trying to find out of Wanda is the scarlet witch. Her destroying the darkholds mean nothing. Also Wanda is overpowered to an extent that everyone one and everything else will be meaningless if she remains in the MCU. Overall it was too much. The shots were cool though, and some of the cgi was super poorly done

I like that all the stranges actually served to push our strange’s character forward - each of them are at different stages of becoming darker as a result of Stephen’s desire to be the one who saves/helps people, stemming from his tragic loss of his sister, or as he would pu tit, his failure to save her. It’s good that they didn’t focus more on shits and giggles like in “into the spider verse” in the scene where him and America are flying through different universes was trippy asf and really fun but i’m glad they left it at that and actually focused on the characters

I saw it a couple of days ago. I wasn't impressed. It didn't have the epic feel of a Marvel movie to me. And the only thing it felt connected to was WandaVision. This would've been a perfect opportunity to connect to Loki, Kang the Conqueror, and the TVA, and they didn't do it. Instead, we get a villain so overpowered that she can only die by her own hand, and a series of brief cameos from heroes I'd much rather be watching.

My takeaway from the film is similar to Adam’s, I feel they overly hyped the multiverse stuff and what Marvel could offer, but didn’t explore enough of the multiverse or make it run more parallel to Strange’s journey in this film. I also agree the casting of the Illuminati was great but I wanted to see more of them and how their presence and role assisted or influenced Strange more throughout his journey, as he tried to fight Wanda (as compared to just a gang up 1 by 1 fight against her and losing epically). Still it was a great movie and it leaves me just wanting for more which they probably are leaving for future installations.

I get what the one guy was saying about it needing to be a bit more "Mad" than what we got. A fight scene that took place across a dozen different universes with the same/different versions of characters in wildly different physics and sceneries that all served the purpose of letting you know "This is a different universe from the one that Dr. Strange was just punched out of." The travelling scene with Strange and America Chavez was perfect but so brief that you could have blinked and missed it. I had a few key issues with this movie that really downgrade it for me. 1. Something about the visuals, especially in the first act, felt off in a way that reminded me of the Spy Kids films more than anything else. I can't put my finger on exactly what causes this, but it really prevented me from getting into the story early on. 2. Wanda's heel turn does not feel earned or justified, especially after how WandaVision resolves. Having her be seduced or corrupted by the Darkhold is fine, but the way that that is connected to her kids just doesn't work for me. 3.The movie comes dangerously close to being an idiot plot. If Wanda had managed to get America's powers in the first scene or two, or just sent by America to one of these dimensions, she most likely would have eventually been confronted with her children seeing her as a monster. This may very well have had a much lower body count. 4. The sub-plot of the Scarlett Witch being a prophesied destroyer/conqueror of the multiverse added nothing to the plot at all, and generally just cluttered up an already packed film. 5. The mage battle between the two Dr. Stranges using musical notes made basically zero sense in the context of their known abilities, and was just so unnecessarily weird that it launched me all the way out of immersion in the film, which I never really recovered from. That all being said. Elizabeth Olsen's acting in this was some of the best I've seen. Her control over her fine facial muscles in some of these scenes blew my mind, and undead Strange and his spirit cloak was one of the coolest things I've seen in an Marvel film in years.

Comparing this movie to Everything Everywhere All At Once, the pacing of Multiverse of Madness felt super jerky. The pacing kept getting interrupted every time Dr. Strange got pulled away from Wanda into another universe. Time seems to stop whenever he leaves, and thus it feels like the immediacy of a problem ceases. Additionally, multiverse of madness had super campy lines and deliveries. It also didn't help that America Chavez's actor is super young and her performance felt very stiff. Overall the movie was fine, but it wasn't amazing. There were too many things that broke immersion for me.

I personally doesn't really enjoy this movie as the arc, rationale or motive of characters are developed relatively poorly. Especially with Wanda, I think the motif of Wandavision is that Wanda realises having happiness for her own on the basis of causing trauma to others isn't right, while this seems to be completely discarded by the writer of the film. She is simply repeating what she did, and the final moment when she realises her mistake by confronting directly with Wanda and children from the other universe is just not persuasive enough for me. Strange and America have warned her before that the kids in the other universe have had their own mother already. I don't think simply seeing this fact by herself would change her mind if she was influenced so deeply by the darkhold as the movie implies. I mean, there must be a universe with only kids and with wanda being dead/missing and wanda can go to that universe to be their mom if she's so obsessed with it. One thing i will give credit to is the creativity of fight scenes design, i really enjoyed the piano notes fighting scene between strange and sinister strange, the combination of visual effects and classic music is absolutely extraordinary
@stephen73852 жыл бұрын
@Erik Kemeey I am very aware of this, so I think that’s one of the problems with the story development. They made Wanda still trying to find a way to reunited with her kids by using darkhold, this means the character development in the wandavision is completely undone. Besides, as I mentioned in the comment , because she was under such deep control of the darkhold, I see no reason she just suddenly turns good, stops pursuing her kids.
@krcmaine2 жыл бұрын
I saw Wandavision as someone with reality warping powers trying to cope with tremendous loss. At the end, she accepted the truth of what she had done, and even accepted the loss of Vision in away...but she had only just begun to mourn her children, when she hears thier cries for her. How can a parent not try everything at their disposal to try and find their kids to save them? Strange2 is a different modivation for her. Yes, she is trying to have that which she has lossed, but Strange2 was also about how to take that pain and grief from despair and shift it into something else...energy into starting a new chapter in your life (Strange)...or using that energy to make sure no one is tempted by rhe Darkhold again (Wanda). The movie was a resolusion to both Strange and Wanda's character arcs. But, their stories aren't over. I think Wanda has a redemption arc in her future and now Strange has his Clea arc.

No, I didn’t enjoy it for a variety of reasons. A few that have been very much irritating me and is scary how people are defending them are… 1. The Darkhold makes no sense in this movie, and the argument that the book corrupted Wanda since Wandavision is just lazy writing and a poor defense mechanism that fans are using to justify why she’s written in this way. We get it, evil book. But why didn’t we get a deeper backstory for both books and HOW it corrupts a being? Agents of Shield handled the Darkhold perfectly by showcasing that it will show the reader their greatest desires and it will slowly consume them the more they read it. We never get that. We just see Wanda is now fully evil then her kids cry and now she’s remorseful? Also, it’s implied that America Chavez has her name in the Darkhold that explains she can travel the multiverse but they gloss over that. Why is her name in the Darkhold? Why is SHE the only version of herself in the entire multiverse? Guess we’ll never know because the Darkhold is now destroyed in every universe because of Wanda :) 2. Strange doesn’t have a character arc. He doesn’t face any consequences for his actions, and nothing from the last 3 movies he’s been in is addressed. Why wasn’t his trauma from sacrificing Tony addressed? What about the multiple times he’s messed with reality? The Illuminati views him as a threat but cosmic level beings don’t? So he read the Darkhold once and now has a third eye? How? Nothing is addressed. Then to introduce Clea and say he created an incursion just adds to the list because he doesn’t…face…consequences…like we thought he would based on the trailers. 3. Yes. People are upset about cameos. Don’t understand why all of a sudden people are acting like too many cameos are a bad thing when for the last 10 years every single movie people theorize some crazy characters to show up. These are the same people who made videos every week pushing this narrative out there when THEY were making ideas about who would show up. Cameos are what give these movies life. Without them, I promise you these movies would fall off so quickly. We had a multiverse movie with 1 crossover and an alternate Earth, that’s not a real multiversal movie. There’s so many concepts that could’ve been touched upon it just felt lackluster and a way to get butts into seats. Those are my thoughts, but that’s just scratching the surface. Can’t see why people defend the most broken movie in the entire franchise, but expect people to hate The Eternals, Captain Marvel, and Ms. Marvel off the bat.

It’s also implied america is the only one who can travel through dimensions. This is clearly false due to the mid credit scene. Also the plot was terrible. Could have easily been written off by Wanda helping america control her powers to find a universe where Wanda’s kids were orphaned due to that universes Wanda dying. Millions of universes where her kids are alive in everyone. (Per Wanda) and she picks on the happy family.

THANK YOU for this comment. Agents of Shield made the Darkhold a terrifying thing, a shit your pants kind of a thing, and this was just sort of glossed over. "Just" an evil book, when I know what it can do. And Wanda just changes her mind at the end of the movie, after all of that? After one of the most powerful beings in existence being possessed by possibly the most evil book in existence, she just "has a change of heart"? Give me a break.

I have so many issues with this movie. It wasn't about Strange. And he wasn't the hero in this own movie. He travelled from dimension to dimension and learned to feel guilty about being a hero. America didn't know what her powers were, but through one sentence from a zombie, she was able to find out her purpose and conquer her powers! And why introduce Mr. Fantastic just to kill him off? That's our very first introduction to the character! Why weren't there different variations of Dr. Strange like in Loki? Where was Kang, and why wasn't he mentioned at all? Of course Scarlett Witch kills herself. Who didn't see that coming. But why was the dark hold connected in all the dimensions. That doesn't make sense. The end of WandaVision and beginning of this movie don't match Why are the writers trying to make us feel sympathy for a woman who tortured and/or killed at least hundreds of people? Just a thought. And who knows, maybe I'm completely wrong about all of it.

You know what I just realized. Strange was wrong. Out of the 14 million possibilities, that wasn’t the only one where they won. We saw in Earth 838 they defeated Thanos with the cost of Doctor Strange eventually being killed by the Illuminati because of his use of the Darkhold. So did 616 Strange pick the one we saw in Endgame just because he survived? Is Strange still only thinking about himself even after the Ancient One told him it’s not about him? Out of the 14 million, did he miss the 838 timeline? It really gave Dr. West’s scene at the wedding more meaning when he asked was that REALLY the only way? Or am I just confusing Multiverses with Timelines? Are they separate things? Jesus.

I thought about this too! I mean... you're watching an MCU movie. We're 14 years into the MCU and I think expecting something to not look like an MCU movie you're going to be disappointed. There's a look and feel that they go for in these movies. When I see an MCU movie I want it to feel like an MCU movie. I get where he was going as far as seeing all these different universes that they passed through. You see that, and you think, "what's going on there? Ooh! What's going on there?! OOH! What's going on THERE?!" But I think any one of those would potentially derail the story, because it would have been all focus on a world that we probably would only spend a few moments in, or it would have been TOO different where it didn't fit in the overall story. As for the cameos, I liked how they handled it. I did audibly gasp when I was John Krasinski. Like everyone, I have seen the fan casting and I was like "They did it... those crazy sons of bitches, they did it." I also have seen some concerns about it being too scary for younger kids. I was a bit worried because my kids really like the MCU movies and it's one of those things we look forward to seeing is the next MCU movie. My girls are 10 and almost 6, so when I heard about it, I asked both of my daughters if they still wanted to see the movie. They both said yes, and my youngest said, "Dad, just sit next to me so if it's too scary I'll turn into you." She didn't flinch once, and I didn't feel like the concern was warranted. It felt overly dramatic warning. My youngest, as we were driving home said, "there was nothing in there that was too scary for me." But then again, one of her favorite shows is Stranger Things, so..... bottom line is, you know your kids. If they're okay with the MCU they'll more than likely be okay here, but if some scary imagery bothers them, then maybe reconsider.

I agree. One thing to add, would have been cool to see more ‘accidental dimensional travelling’ by America. They could have had it so instead of her and Strange going thru like 20 portals in one session, have it so she does one at a time and they try to survive in that dimension until she opens another one, al while Wanda or the Illuminati are chasing them. Some of the dimensions they showed were pretty cool and could have opened up a few more cameos. Even if they were only in each dimension for 5 minutes. They were many good part however, I like the use of dead defender strange. I love how brutal and relentless Wanda was in full strength, Wanda will kill and chase anyone no matter what. This movie plot is very different and I for the first multiverse movie it’s very good, I think they will 100% expand on this. Edit: What I mean by motivations is Wandas character development during both WandaVision Conpared to Dr Strange 2. I have watched WandaVision, its my bad that I didn't make it clear on what I was trying to say.

Wanda had nine episodes of WandaVision to explain her motivation. At this point if people haven’t taken the time to watch the MCU properties that’s a personal problem lol. I knew EXACTLY what her motivation was because I’d seen WandaVision. We are over a decade into this franchise. We have moved past hand holding for every bit of character development.

I enjoyed the film, and thought that Elizabeth Olsen again showed how good an actress she is. But something has really been bugging me, ever since I heard someone else ask this question (I wish I had thought of this): Who is the father of the alternate Wanda's kids in ALL of those other universes? It can't be Vision. She couldn't have created the kids, because that would mean that evil Wanda could have done that as well. So where did they all come from?

IIt's an alternate universe, Wanda could get knocked up with whoever she decides to be with in that universe. It's not that far fetched in an alt universe. Heck it doesn't even have to be a pregnancy from a relationship, artificial insemination from a donor would work too. There's undoubtedly some that are made of magic but it could be anything from an infinite number of possibilities in a multiverse.
@Haldurson2 жыл бұрын
@@plushiepenguin Of course. But it has to be the same person in each universe, there isn't even a hint as to who that may be. We never see any hint of any relationship. Aren't you curious? I'm just saying that it's an unanswered question. (And as I said, it wouldn't make sense for them to be created from magic, because if they were, Wanda prime should certainly be capable of creating them).

Great discussion on the movie. Everyone provided valid points to back their opinions. Sometimes I read reviews by so called film critics and it's just nonsense. It's more difficult to break down a movie like this because while the movie is a fun watch it's not the greatest so there's a lot of good and bad but nothing too extreme in either direction. Nothing really terrible but nothing really great.

I enjoyed it but I'm an old school evil dead kid so feeling that Raimi DNA in the camera work and backgrounds made my day. I loved that they softballed all the elements to have a decent revenge incursion storyline with Franklin Richards being named in a universe with mutants and a Wanda that knows how to get to the book of Vishanti.

I think the main problem is that they showed us too much scenes which in turn massively increased our expectations. Expectations which I think would have been almost impossible to deliver in a 2 hr movie. Also I personally think that the movie should have been a bit longer.
@BlackShogun2 жыл бұрын
I feel like these type of Marvel films are just transitional pieces to string together a larger arc; in doing so, they’re missing opportunities to contribute good stand alone entries on storytelling alone because they’re always concerned with raising the stakes. Just like how Black Widow could have been a classic spy thriller, they instead opted to follow the same formula of big explosions and over the top set pieces. It’s not a bad film but I was a little underwhelmed. Also from here on out I’m only watching the first teaser trailers and nothing more.
@RyanHaney552 жыл бұрын
I think if they tried to fit more universes in a 2 hour movie, that's all it would be. Just "here's a paint universe where you can't eat, here's one where chairs sit on people and order phones to eat." They wouldn't have time for a story. And to answer the thumbnail question, no, it's not bad. It's real good.

@@megamikethemovieman My favorite part was when they introduced America’s lesbian moms! It added a lot to the story and was the most meaningful 15 seconds of the film honestly. I really appreciate how they took the time and put their hearts and hard work in to add the subtle details that make everyone feel included!! Not to mention they even went out of their way to make sure the Latinx community was included by hiring Xochitl Gomez!!! I’m so pleased that disney has been going so above and beyond lately, and I love that they also make sure there is enough representation for People Of Color. I personally loved the kissing scene in Lightyear as well, which was another fantastic film. It was such a great way to introduce homosexuality to my non-binary 6 year old. They were a little confused but we/us had the opportunity to talk about it on the ride home after!!!! I hope that the government can legalize R rated movies for everyone so I can bring they with my husband and birthing person to the cinema for films that will sneak in some scenes that will be a great topics of discussion for my child. For example, I would love to see more non-binary and transgender characters explore their genders, sexualities and kinks! It will add a lot to the plot so everyone is included and it will also help me introduce them to superhero role models who are also trans or non-binary!!!!!! I can’t wait to see Valkyrie explore her queerness in Love and Thunder, trust me I will be seeing it at least twice! Thank you disney, take my money! And thank you Latoya Braveneau for your secret gay agenda! Two things that would have been the movie 10x better (Movie flow was great already, but these two aspects would have made it perfect). 1.) TV spots should have never shown Captain Carter at all and Professor X a second time. They should have left the trailer hint appearence for Professor X ONLY so it would not give too much away. 2.) Deadpool would have have been perfect to appear in the scene where Strange is in a holding cell before meeting the Illuminati, he ends up being put in a cell with Deadpool where they meet and discuss and multiverse understanding (Comedic scene as both Strange and Deadpool have similar experiences). Deadpool/Colossus will then reappear near the end of the movie to help Wong and Strange save America Chavez from Maximoff. During a Wanda-Deadpool fight scene, Deadpool will get a flashback caused by Wanda of Vanessa's death which continues to further establish Deadpool's pain and overall dark tone of Dr Strange 2. Overall, the cameos should have ONLY been the Illuminati along with Deadpool and Colossus would have been the icing on the cake. Too many cameos is not necessary. Only Illuminati and surprise Deadpool-Colossus contribution to the storyline would have made this movie ranked WAY higher than it already is. There was a definitely chance to blend Deadpool into the storyline without ruining the tone and keeping the tone of the movie as dark and sad. This will also set up hints and desires for future MCU movies such as New X Men, Secret Wars, etc.

The film suffered from a paper thin plot ,major macguffin issues and inconsistancy of powers between the main characters so it gave the fights and chases very little weight. The film also suffers from one of the biggest no no cliche climaxes which just killed the vibe of its conclusion ( The power was always in you trope ) That being said I still enjoyed the movie and give it a solid 7.5/10

Well said.. The main problems I found in this move too.. And.. Marvel needs to fire their marketing department team.. Tv spots ruined all the surprises and story was so predictable.. A movie's potential wasted by run time and cringe inconsistent magical battles Like defender stranger could have easily avoided being killed.. And sinister strange had dark hold and they fought with music notes?? Seriously..??
