Brother make sure that you PAY YOURSELF FIRST. every paycheck from work make sure that 15 percent goes into saving if you can afford more do it but at least 10 percent minimum. It may seem like a lot but when you factor in the junk food you buy or games or whatever wants that you spend your money on, it's chump change. I believe in you brother. Don't get a gf just work on treating yourself first. By the year's end with hard work and patience you will have what you want. It's just good practice anyhow. Let this tip (lol) carry with you your entire life. I used to only have .83 too and now I have 5.00 (jk) be safe out there man.

The main reason for having a 1000 versus the 600 is more down low torque. On the 600 you need to wring them out to get into the meat of the power, with the 1000, they pull from right off the bottom. Don’t get me wrong, i have owned a 600, and now i ride a 1000. After owning both, i enjoy having more grunt. Either will comfortably run at 80 all day long, but the liter bike will do it at a lower rpm. As for the weight difference, the added weight of the 1000 is actually more comfortable on the highway, the nimbleness of the 600 is a bit better in the twisties. Just my own observations from having had both.

Rata 4U, lol, I think that might be a bit of hyperbole, but it also brings up a good point! The reason so many of us older (or should I say more seasoned riders) suggest starting out on smaller displacement machines, is so that you develop the skills for riding before graduating to a more powerful bike. The only time you really experience that kind of throttle response you described is with these new RBW systems, and that seems to be true of so many of them (MT 09, GSX-S 1000) but it’s something you get used to.

The low down torque is amazing to have in the city or even on the highway for a quick burst of speed in 6th gear at 4500rpm to get around traffic. Another great advantage of a 1k is the taller gearing for less frequent gear changes. My 2015 ZX10R hits 105mph in 1st so if you truly wanted to you never have to hit 2nd anywhere but at 70mph in 6th on the highway I'm at 5k rpm and getting 47mpg. As to the more nimble lightweight argument the ZX comes in at 434lbs with the Brock's exhaust and cat delete so on average only 15-20lbs more than the 600cc class and at that difference you can't even tell it's there. By far the best thing about new super bikes are the electronics. Even in 1st gear at 7k snapping the throttle back my bike won't wheelie or spin the rear in the rain. Litre bikes aren't the untamable monsters they used to be ten years ago.

I'm an old man, so consider the source: I've been riding over 35 years and have ridden almost every bike imaginable, since I used to run a repair service. My days of supersports are over because old man bones and supersports don't mix. However, my biggest bike is an 850 (Tracer 900 GT). After a certain point, the power becomes moot. The Yamaha triple gives me the torque rush, and it can double any speed limit in the US (with an ECU flash), so why would I need any more? I found it was WAY more fun to show up on an "old man bike," and run that thing through the twisties as fast or faster than most of the dudes on supersports. Developing the ability to push the machine you have to its limits is much more fun than just "buying speed." To me, anyway.

Too right mechanical brother. I miss stretching corner speeds out to the limit on my Honda VTR250 to keep up with my bigger road buddys bikes. Or the squating roller coaster feeling the VT750 DC has accelerating out of the corners. Bike specific qualities that I've only felt on the smaller bikes. Thanks for your moto service brother :-)

I absolutely agree. I love the triple engines for their balance of power and torque. After going to a R1200ST because I was doing a lot of long distance rides, I'm looking to get a MT-09 to fit a broader spectrum. Liter bikes used to be something that I really wanted but with 600's being as powerful as they are now, there isn't much sense in upgrading. True, liter bikes are something you can get used to but they are really unforgiving with mistakes, which we all make. Also, great montage, really shows your growth as a video creator. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to own an overkill 1000. I think they are great bikes and I even said later in the video that I actually really like the new CBR1000RR (and S1K). If my 600 got stolen or broke then I would consider a 1000 just for the experience alone.

Yes. I was wondering when that would come up. I wasn't saying all 600's are useless, just there's not much of a point in buying one brand new. When for an extra $2,000 you can get a liter bike that has all the technology, holds it's value better, and has additional power. Since I already own a 600 (which I bought used) I don't see a point in "upgrading" there's really no reason to. The extra power isn't needed and i'd rather hold onto my money and maybe buy something else like another dirt bike or a jetski (lol). If I were buying new though, a 1000 would be my choice, maybe a 750.

Once thought I should "upgrade" to a superbike but... I've since realized I'm really, really happy with my Honda 919. Just gonna slap a windscreen on it for the highway. I've had this bike almost 3 years now and only recently have I become comfortable with the power. First instinct was to want MORE POWER lol but I'm realizing I should just focus on getting really good with this bike. Maybe try a track day or something. I love wringing out 1st and 2nd to get up to like 90 on an onramp -- if I were to do that on a 1000 I think I would go to jail

I’m with ya! I moved down to a 600 from a 1k. It’s just more fun. You can twist the throttle with a more confidence and still feel in control. On the 1k I found my self holding back and a little scary at times. Too much bike for my style of riding.

600 vs 1000 is purely preference to the rider when it comes to street riding, neither are beginner or intermediate bikes on street or track. Both are typically within 30lbs of each other and with top speeds within 20 mph of each other. Throttle control and features are so similar as to be the same, and can be modified. I ride 1000s because after test riding many of both I liked the feel of it better, I like the power and typically gear them lower with faster throttles simply because I like knife edge responses, even when touring which I do with it as well. At legal speeds both can be modified to ride almost the same, so again, it's all preference for a rider that can handle either one.

As much as I love my CBR600RR and agree with pretty much everything stated. I grab they keys to my RSV4 RF every time. Just as nimble in the twisties, top notch handling and ten times the bike from brakes to suspension. People say oh 600’s are so nimble. So are the brand new litre bikes. Those Aprilias have outstanding control in the twisties and power to back it up. My CBR 600RR looks slightly bigger than my RSV4 too when next to each other and it’s actually thinner than my 600RR. Long story short. Get the bike you want.

I owned a 2005 CBR600RR... I upgraded to an '08 CBR1000RR and I kind of missed the 600... because for a moment in time I had both sitting side by side in the garage and when I hopped on the 600 I felt like it was fare more nimble and in my control, I actually completely relate to what you're saying in this video. I did end up selling the 600 but if I could get a time machine I'd never bother with the 1000

(I always hear complaints from riders) I still haven't made it to a test ride. I'm focused on the 636 Kawi but my favorite body style is the early 600rr ('07/'08 and even up to 2012). I have a sneaking suspicion, that I won't care about the lack of torque, with a 600rr.

Thanks! It really depends on what you're used to. The first time I rode my 600 (coming from a 300) I thought the torque was insane. In that case it's just fine, but once you're spoiled by something like and fz or even a vfr, then you suddenly start missing the torque.

I used to think I would never want more than a 600. Then after almost killing myself and definitely killing my bike, I got a 954rr. Super light for it's time. Fun wheelie bike and great in the turns. After someone decided to rear end me I went with the next logical decision and got a full on liter bike. I couldn't see myself stepping back to 600cc power and torque.

When does one "need" the power of a 1,000 off of a racetrack? How much time is spent on a racetrack compared to regular street riding? I had a Kawi 650 in NYC. Never got it past 2nd gear because of the traffic, therefore, not much fun to ride. Now I've a 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 400 ABS KRT Edition (bought it as a 74th birthday present -in 7 days - for myself and have , 251 miles on it already) - it rocks because I can enjoy shifting through all 6 gears, and since it can go up to 130 mph, it's way more than I'd ever need, or want. Plus, one has to admit, it's GORGEOUS!

The other 3 traded their bikes back in for liter bikes. Not to be out done. The supervisor bought a Hayabusa. Every one owned a different make. Just funny.

honestly Hero, I can tell you just love your 600 so much you really dont seem to even care why a 1000 could be better, which being a shorter guy, at least in comparison to me (6'2) i dont think its necessary for you to get a 1k other than just to have it because they are AWESOME, 600's already have sooo much hp for a street bike its crazy at least as far as power to weight, but for me to have a 1k, it would be to have a slightly larger bike for comfort (id never need all of the power and speed it has to offer) and the low end torque. id love to get an sp2 rc51 like you ended up getting. right now i dont have a bike but when i did in '13 i had an '03 cbr 600rr and it was PERFECT! but now that im older i have more appreciation for the older bikes and torque numbers are more important to me personally. love your channel, keep up the good work!

Thanks Dave, people who bring up comfort of a liter bike always have me wondering why don't they just get a naked bike like the fz09? Tons of low down torque and way more comfort. Either way, for me a 600 is more than enough for the street which is why I don't need an inline 4 1000cc superbike. I've ridden them and they're absolutely insane... even compared to my RC51... the RC has torque but it doesn't have that insane pull your arms off power that an inline 4 superbike does.

I have a CBR 600RR that I used to do some track days anda club racing. What a like the most is the sound and the revs going up and put a gear more with quick shifter.. Make me fell like a motogp rider :) ... But I have to confesse that I try the S1000RR on track and I love it... It's a bigger CBR600RR, the weigth is not too much and the power deliver is somth, but strong... Try it

I'm only looking at 1000cc's for my next bike since 75% of my riding is done on tracks. My 600 is great and all but it's lacking on straights on the track. Plus the new panigale V4's are just drop dead gorgeous and I can't wait to get mine. If I was mostly a street rider I would have just stuck with my r3 because even that can get illegal quick.

During my club racing days I have fond memories of riding around larger displacement bikes during open practice sessions. They were faster down the straights but I would be able to break much later and ride around the outside of them carrying way more cornering speed. Cornering Speed > straight line speed. Anyone can twist a throttle in a straight line. JMHO

I am in the same situation with my cbr 600 pc35. I rode the rn19 from a friend and i liked the power but there are a lot of downsides: heat in the city, insurance cost, too much power for the street,you drive a bad line and replace it with more throttle and the repairs are very expensive. I consider to buy a 750 but i love the way the honda drives just too much. But i dont like that i get sloppy with too much power and that i cant squish all the power out just too much. I will definitly save up to buy my dream bike a rsv4 but i will keep the 600 and ride the rsv4 just on the track and the autobahn. I agree with your points. Good video!

Had a 17 s1000rr I let go because my commute was about 75% of my ownership. I took it to the track once and spent all day in 3rd and I felt like I was wasting the bike,maintenance,tires and risk. Not to mention paying $190 a month to commute is pretty dumb. Coming from a 650 I enjoyed working for my horsepower and keeping up with my friends. I learned to grind pegs on the 650 on the street. Still,the perimeters for learning a 1000cc let alone these hyper bikes is staggering. As a person who loves to work for my horsepower I’d rather have a 300 when I’m not trying to be egotist. To this day my dream bike is still a 600rr and I could afford more,but why. 600s are reliable platform,light,nimble, and proven similar to a Toyota Corollas using the same engine with minor changes and different bodies throughout development. Continuing,most of all I love to work for my horsepower and have a reason to flick through the gearbox. I love to build torque and use all my engines powerband. I love when people underestimate the bike you rides and you blow there helmets off simply by leaning into a corner carrying nothing but you speed and confidence .

I can relate with some of the things you are saying. If I am riding in the city I usually set the wet mode on my 959 panigale. Yes 959 cc is not 1000, but close enough. And what I like the most of all the power it have, is the low rpm torque.

I've owned 600's and 1000"s. Theres pros and cons to both. The thing is that 600s just aren't that exciting to ride unless you're above 10,000 rpm. Crack the throttle at 10000 on a 600 and it still doesnt compare to doing the same on a 1000 at half the rpm. They're completely different experiences. My friend had a Ducati 848 that I could beat every time with my 600 at the dragstrip but if i got to choose which bike to ride on the street i would pick the 848 because it FEELS faster even though it's not. Torque changes the whole riding experience. If we were on a track i would choose my 600 over the 848 but on the street having that torque there all the time means more. You dont have to hit ridiculous speeds to feel like you're where the bike wants to be. It's just more fun not having to rev the shit out of your bike. And the weight difference between 1000 and 600 isnt enough to make much of a difference. Theres little bikes that weigh less than 600s. Still it's all personal preference. If you enjoy shifting alot and feeling like you're making the bike work more then 600 is for you. If you want a bike that feels like it will lift the front wheel on command or like short shifting then get a 1000. Both are great bikes just different riding experiences. 600s near redline sound better too. (Same engine config)

I have damn near the same bike. I've got an 09 cbr600rr and I've owned it for two years and have put almost 5,000mi and Believe it or not it was the first Street bike I've owned, and plan on still owning for a long while. The love I have for my bike is perfectly explained in the video, on everypoint dead on the Honda 600rr are no joke and same with the competitors. And I have the same exact opinion about our bikes they have way enough power you don't need anything more than that, 1000+ are just asking for trouble at that point! If you haven't already gotten in trouble with the 600 LOL. All the 600 and the 1000 want is more thrown at it it loves the when its higher in the RPMs more. But on a different hand definitely stealing the idea on the Carbon plastics under the gas tank, as well as the rear blinkers built in to the rear step for the passenger. I upgraded to a 750, and then I realized a 1000 would just be non sense. Who cares about going on a strait line fast. If I wanted that, I'd do it in the comfort of a car. Bikes are supposed to be about having fun, and leaning it over is one of the most fun parts. Why sacrifice that for a more powerful and heavier engine? It's like a v8 mustang compared to a 4 cyl Subaru. The feeling is like flying a Jumbo jet as compared to a fighter jet. Different strokes for different folks.

It's one thing if you think 1000cc motorcycles have too much power. That is OK. But you also say that you believe that the suspension feels better on the 600cc because of the weight reduction...?? I think what +HeroRR means to say in this m-vlog is; HeroRR rides a 600cc because it's easier than riding a 1000cc(and cheaper)... I can kinda agree a 1000cc can be a lot for the streets power wise...But the 600rr only weighs like 20 lbs lighter than the 1000cc. You will not notice 20 lbs when street riding. On a track sure. So weight wise you should not have not argument... also most 1000cc's will not make the power that production factory claims. The 2013 Honda CBR1000rr only makes maybe 150hp stock, with an intake, exhaust, race fuel, tune, and meticulous replacement of those mods when the parts expire; then maybe you will have a motorcycle that is constantly pushing 170 horsepower. Just sayin! The horsepower argument is just absurd anyways because plenty of vehicles out there are making 5-8 times the amount of horsepower your bike has in public streets! Some of which will do over 200 mphs easily. where as Most, if not all, liter bikes will not do 200 mphs off the show room floor. does that make high horsepower illegal instantly because its fast? I never said the 600 has better suspension. I just like the handling characteristic more. A 600 dives into corners fast and I like that. Also my 600 only weighs 400 lbs, The only 1000 that comes close to that (that is an inline 4) is the brand new cbr1000rr which I talk about later on in the video.

I like as much torque as I can get. I have had over 75 motorcycles and rode Busa's and Zx14's until I was 58 years old, I also had a B-King that I wish I still had. Now I have to listen to old farts like me talk about how well their cruiser handles and stops, they have no idea how well a motorcycle can truly handle. When I moved to cruiser types of MC's I felt insecure for a long time knowing it in no way handled like what I was used to... I ride a Valkyrie, 100HP and 100 foot lbs. of torque and it feels slow to me, but it is comfortable.

Meanwhile some of those old farts keep up with 600 sport bikes, and litre bikes too. My step-father told me a story about the time he rode with a bunch of goldwings with his litre ninja, the goldwings were constantly at 200kmh and he couldn't keep up with them because they were just that much better at driving. Completely agree - a 600 is more than enough. I have a 600 and a 1000, I use my 600 as a commuter and I have the 1000 as a tourer when I tour around Europe. The main benefits of the 1000 for me is it's low / mid range torque, it's nice to be able to quickly overtake traffic when you're cruising at 80mph and the engine isn't screaming on the highway, but more so the practical benefits of better luggage options, etc..

I went from a 2005 600rr to a 2006 1000rr. Cost is essentially the same except for the 190 rear tire which is just a bit more expensive. Heck even fuel cost is the same. It might be a different story for a new 1000 though ?

Liability insurance is supposed to only be based on the rider/driver, but insurance companies do lie about that... Engine size sometimes matters but it seems the truth is either the vehicle purpose as designed, such as racing, touring, commuter, cruiser, or possibly based on statistics of the previous similar models. This did surprise the reps at several of the major insurance companies, as they also thought liability was only tied to driver experience/history. In my 30s my 1000 is about $130/yr and my 1400 is $80/yr. My last 1800 cruiser was $200 in my 20s and would probably be $50/yr now. Basically it's all a scam lol... Full coverage on a 600 or a 1000 is enough to purchase the bike again in 3 years typically, an amount that allows insurance companies to make money even if they pay out a totaled bike claim

For a time I had both my ZX-6R and an R1; both bikes were bought brand new. I loved them both for different reasons. That’s like having more than one 4-wheeled vehicle for different reasons. I also eventually bought am R6 for the track, and kept that bike alongside my street legal GSX-R1000. I started riding 1000’s back in 2000 and I currently have 2 of them. My R6 was my last 600. I’d have another 600 one day though. My sights are on a Panigale V4 next though. Building my collection.
