i’ve noticed that a lot of the newer 600s are looking similar to their bigger brothers, you mentioned honda (which i agree with) take the latest gen r6 in comparison and to the r1, kind of the same with the 2024 zx6r and the 2024 zx10r. im curious to see what suzuki is going to do with their 600

I got to see the CBR600RR in the flesh at EICMA last month. It looks fantastic and had to be one of the best looking bikes at the show. The amount of attention it got was interesting to see, it certainly didn't feel like this category is dead at the show. The turn signals brings down the overall looks but hopefully it'll be an easy fix with aftermarket parts.

Having an electronic steering damper is very cool. I could be wrong, but I'd feel better with a mechanical one. I think that something as simple as a wire coming loose would be trouble, whereas an "old school" mechanical would be less likely to fail. Again, it's just a thought.

In all my years riding it has came down to the Kawasaki or Honda. Both have been amazing power and handling. You cant go wrong with either bike. I do have the 2024 ZX-6. I added a Graves full exhaust with filter and flashed ECU. It made big difference. Graves will have the velocity stacks available in one more week, these will add quite a bit more hp as well with unlimited mapping for buying their full system exhaust. This new 636 has really impressed me with my upgrades. I remember my first Ninja, it was back in 1989. It was a 1989 Ninja GPZ 900R.

Man I want your bike. The Zx6r and ZX10r are my favorite, but I can get a 2006 CBR 600 that is ready to ride for $3500. Coming from nothing but cruisers, you think it would be smarter to do a lesser price sport bike to see how I’d like it? Or spend a little more and get the sport bike I really think I want?

Tuners love the CBR600rr engine! Don't forget it used to be the base platform for Moto2. I think the engine has come with an over-rev capability since the first RR in 2003, if not the refreshed 2005 model definitely had this. The Ninja's extra 37cc isn't enough for much more power. It's enough to make a supersport 600 a little more flexible for road use, but not ridiculously more powerful.
@Nevoexpo
@Nevoexpo 6 ай бұрын
With the right rider, aftermarket parts and tuner, a 600RR will break the 3 second 0-100 but because of the lower weight and easier handling, it will perform extremely well against any other bike, especially 1000cc. That being said, forget about catching them on a straight at highway speeds. Don't mean you both won't be fast asf. 🤣

Another great video, HeroRR. I do like the looks of the Honda, yes. But those turn signals...one of the first things I would change. Those seem like a...mistake. Like, afterthought sort of mistake. BTW, my wife LOVES her '09 Yammie R6. She's had since new, probably will never sell it. I just got a new MT09 back in June. I love being back on a naked sport bike for sure. This might be my "forever" bike. It's also a course correction after I (unwisely) traded my Kawasaki Z1000 (2012 model).

I just don’t understand why Europe and Japan get the new CBR while we’re stuck with the same bike since 2013? One major feature left out here is how the euro/japan version of the CBR is something like 30lbs heavier than the US version due to all the electronics and ABS. With 118hp, you’ll definitely notice that weight increase. I’ll gladly hang onto my ‘18. I’m really liking that 40th anniversary 636 though. That thing is sexxxy.

I wish both bikes had an option to keep an analog tachometer if you wanted to. These TFTs are nice, but in 10 to 20 years they will look outdated and they might fail. It would also be a nightmare to fix digital electronics, vs an analog tachometer. The old gen zx6r had a gear indicator and a fuel gauge right next to the gear indicator, so they wouldn’t need to do very much to add it to the new bike.

I actually own both of these bikes. Unfortunately for me my Kawasaki is the 2021 model which has the face lift, but not the most recent face lift, and also has the half digital half analog dash which im not too fond of. I would much rather have the full color tft dash that comes on it now. My CBR 600rr is the 2006 model which I love very much, and it also has the under tail exhaust and a fuel gauge which from what i understand tends to malfunction, however mine works just fine for the time being. Im almost certain the 03-06 models of the CBR are the more sought after models mainly because the later years kept on adding more weight with slightly less horsepower as the years went on.

There is a solution to the 600 doldrums. The japanese manufacturers need to go to a 675cc, 4 cylinder. Euro contamination requirements will easily be reached while making over 130hp. I believe such a formula would actually take market share away from the 1,000cc class.

Nice one Hero. Thank you. I think a better price comparison for the Honda is to take the Australian price as we’ve had it available from day one. I also can’t see it being any cheaper as the freight cost to the States will be more. Anyhow, without any taxes and dealer fees the Honda is listed at $27,599 AUD. At the current conversion rate of 0.66 sees the Honda at $18,215 USD before all the additional taxes and dealership fees. At $13,500? Dreaming. It is just way overpriced here and I’m yet to see one on the road or track for this reason. For reference I live in Melbourne and also frequently visit Philip Island raceway. In comparison, the one from team green is around $10,000 AUD cheaper. Both brand new. A difference of nearly $7,000 USD.

Good point. At first it seems hard to believe. But back in 2017 Triump's Daytona 675R was retail $14,000 and adjusted for inflation that is $17,700 in 2023 money. So it's definitely possible. Although I think that will be a really really tough sell for Honda. As great as the new 600RR is, at the end of the day we don't really need a 6 axis IMU. Hard to justify 40% price increase even if the tech is way better. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Both are very good bikes but I would have expected the Kawasaki to have a bigger power advantage than it does with the considerable extra CC's. The honda looks much cleaner, a very slick looking bike.

The cbr is nice, but the front end, bottom end torque and the fuel gauge of the zx6r does it for me

No not yet from what I've been told. But it is going to the EU and will likely make its way here in the next couple of years. Hopefully this video will still be relevant by then.

@@HeroRR I won't lie I will be a little salty as I bought a 21 late that year. If it comes here and if the torque settings and engine braking are tied to the lean angle sensor that bike will be an absolute monster on track. Plus a real blipper is huge. Also if they offer a variant without ABS that would be awesome. As far as the street goes I prefer a fuel gage to all that ha ha.

In my opinion, Kawasaki and Honda are the only two that matter when it pertains to 600cc.

what? What do you mean by no fuel gauge? Does this mean you cant see how many gas is left in the tank? That's a joke, right? Isn't that standard for 30 years or so? Am i missing something?

Hahaha I'm gonna need you to explain how you jumped to the conclusion that the Kawi will make alot more power than the Honda when modded? Without actually getting your hands on the bike/ dynoing and tuning the bike, I don't see how you can say that so surely haha.
