HexaFrame - A low cost 2x4 shelter

A quick teaser video about my new OSG based project.
The HexaFrame is a low cost 2x4 frame shelter. Very wind resistant and high strength. Utilizes many time tested human building concepts.
Designed to be sheathed with 1.5" foam board (or many other coverings).

This would be a good frame for a sand bag home. Sheath in foam board and cover with a waterproof liner then stack your sandbags around it to make an eco-dome style home. that you can actually drywall instead of stucco. As small as it is, it would be fairly affordable to use recycled paper as inner wall and floor insulation. I like it!

This is awesome, thanks for sharing. Does anybody have any ideas where a family of 3 could pitch a tent to live in? We have put all our stuff in storage and have to be out by the end of the month. We are in So Cal and the campgrounds all book up and have a limit to how many days you can stay in a calendar year.

I'm not in SoCal so I don't know. Get thee a VAN! Move between campgrounds when the limit is up. Work up to an RV...Then a cheap patch of land. Many times you can even score a whole RV for $3000 or under and skip the van part.

Could be the basis of many different things. I just want to show how you could build a simple TOUGH structure with $500 and a trip to Home Depot. In one day no less. I have another version of this that can be filled with 8" of cellulose insulation. It's got a more advanced frame design. The better insulated version will stay in the background, unless somebody wants to build one. As they say.."Qui audet adipiscitur"
