No matter what Cosby did or they claim he did doesn't matter. Fat Albert is part of my child hood. And I'll always support this cartoon and the guy who created it.

Bruh… there is no “they claim he did”, he fucking did it. It was a proven open-and-shut case 🤦🏼‍♂️ Ya boy is a rapist. That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy his creations, Michael Jackson was a pedophile and people still enjoy his music guilt free. Enjoy what he created, but don’t defend the rapist just because you like his silly little cartoon…

This was my favorite cartoon of all time. For a middle-class kid, it taught me that everyone is not so fortunate. Yet, it didn't matter because they had the same cares and concerns that I did and I could relate to them and laugh along with them.

I grew up watching Fat Albert ever Saturday and loved the movie. I was told by a white liberal I was racist for liking the show. What? I never thought of the show racially. They were just like my knuckleheaded friends. One could argue it introduced me into the love of black culture. Is it racist I like Run DMC, Wutang, Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, Fishbone, Sade, George Clinton, James Brown, etc?

Well some of the characters were kinda offensive like Mush Mouth who is incredibly lazy and spouts unintelligible gibberish, Chris Rock talked about how he got made fun of at school because white kids expected him to talk funny like that. The show has it's good points but good lord Mush Mouth was a terrible idea who never should've made it to the screen.

Regardless of this man's crimes, I enjoyed fat Albert and the Cosby kids when I was growing up. I sincerely hope the generations can ignore the transgressions of the creator, and just enjoy the creation, because these life lessons that the show conveyed to the young viewers were worth watching, even if they were hypocritically ignored by Bill Cosby himself.

These cartoon guys were real! In the movie that was made about Fat Albert, they showed his grave and the guys who Bill grew up with and talked about. I with people would let a man who has done his time alone. I the work of the Crosby Show and the real problems they face, and I like again the cartoons that helped kids and let them know they were not going through things alone. Others face them too, showed how they could get help! Thanks to his late Son.

Yeah because everyone believes that an accuser says you did something 40 years past, when no one in the world could possibly defend themselves. Growing up in the South as a white kid in rural Appalachia, this and other tv shows in the 70’s was my first exposure to Black culture. Now, mind you, there was a lot of stereotypes that I had to learn my way out of later as I became more learned and more worldly, but to this day, regardless of what may have happened, I have separated art from artist and still enjoy the work that Dr Cosby and others have helped us as a culture to grow.

What Bill emphasized, which set him apart from other activists in the industry past and present was that he never pushed 'by any means necessary', but instead pushed the ideology yjat there has to be a better way, let's find one. A profound statement that still holds up today.

God grant that none of the self-righteous here and in so many other places ever have someone from their past step forward and decide that now's the time to settle an old score, get back at them for something real or imagined, and accuse them of having done something so long ago that no one could possibly defend themselves against it in a "your word against mine" situation. You may rather suddenly realize that it's not nearly so comfortable a position as sitting back and judging someone else as so many feel they can do with Bill Cosby.
