Theory time, this is about an abusive father, who after abusing for a long time either passed away or left, making the kid say “why do I miss people who hurt me” and the mother replying in an angry manner because the mother was probably trying to protect the kid and hated the father for his abusive acts
@Br1annaFr33man10 ай бұрын
She didn't seem very angry to me, more like passive aggressive.
@warweasel28322 ай бұрын
I disagree. I think the mother also has people who she misses that hurt her, maybe even the same person. She's just not ready to confront that in herself, so all she can do is make her kid repress that question like she already does. She even goes back to reading as if to say "this conversation is over, I don't want to think about it anymore. Go away"

the comforting vibe of jackstauber videos is perfect to hide darker messages or experiences that people(maybe even jack stauber himself) have experienced. when the child asks about somthing unknown and beyond understand he is given a simple answer but when asking why he misses people have have abused him he is given more verbal abuse and is told that he is stupid which is somthing many of the people around me have experienced from family and people they used to be friends with.

I don't know if this is my morbidly dark mind talking or what but, I think that he went up to his mom and said "hey mom, where do people go when the die?" This is a very interesting phrase to say to his mom out of the blue. So what if he talking to his mom's ghost and/or an imaginary mom. And she says "somewhere far away *with their loved ones* " so he thinks that he too is dead for he's talking to his mom's "ghost." But maybe he doesn't see the "ghost" of his mom often and misses her. Or maybe he knows she's dead but imagines conversation with her but still misses her So he asks why he misses people, or in this case her, when she hurts him Then right after she calls him dumb and clearly he's hurt by that. So maybe his mom was neglectful and rude to him and his "ghost" mom also manifests this aurora or hurt.

When the mom said “that’s cuz ur a dummy, okay” it’s like she’s trying to reassure him of that. I think she knows who hurt him and also knows what it’s like to miss someone who hurt you. Theory: When the mom started explaining about death, the room became darker and her pupils dilated. I'm thinking that it was an imaginative thought, and he never actually asked ''where do we go when we die'' If you remove that part, then he'd keep silent for a bit after saying ''mum?'' and then ask ''why do i miss people who hurt me'' I think that the mom neglects and hates her son. Her son creates an imaginative world in his head, where she loves him and is nice to him.

Theory: The son asks his Mom to explain what happens when we die, and the Mom tries to carefully and thoughtfully answer his question; recognizing the delicacy required in answering one of life's greatest questions to an impressionable, curious, and likely scared child. Then the son asks an equally difficult question to answer, one that requires the same degree of delicacy in its answer as found with the son's question on death. In the spirit of comedy, Jack Stauber has the Mom respond with an unexpectedly insensitive answer to the Son's second question.

when the kid asks a question that practically doesn't have a certain answer the mother answers easily (and before that she closes her book to take the time to answer and pay attention to him) but then when the little boy asks a sad/personal or simply a emocional problem or conflict she almost avoids that and just call him a dum dummie, not just not helping him, it's hurting him in a direct or indirect way too :-'(

One of the things that make the differences between questions so striking is how the mother answers. With question 1, she stutters and repeats her words a bit, trying to come up with how she’ll answer. But with question two, it’s immediate. No hesitation “you’re a dummy.” It implies she’s thought of it regularly or well in advance
