It’s binding arbitration. Pre-COVID, the litigants would physically bring the pet/property to the courtroom, so when the judge makes the decision, it is enforced on the day. Because they are not physically present, the binding arbitration still stands but I guess the plaintiff needs to follow up with another court if the defendant refuses to comply with the binding arbitration, which is why it could take months 🤷♂️

@@Ariarosesmommy Cops can't force the guy to return the cat, all they can do is try to convince/scare him into doing it. Typically in these kinds of cases the judge orders the defendant to return the property within X amount of time or they have to pay the monetary damage, but she didn't and probably can't because the cat's value is nowhere near $500. The plaintiff's damages are capped at the value of the cat unless the judge decides to add punitive damages or some other creative thing to justify the extra money.

I don't think it was mange. If a cat is infested with fleas, they'll lick their fur off. Or it could be a flea allergy. I've taken in a couple of the neighbor's cats because they were neglected. Lizzy was tossed outside, pregnant and it was below zero. After 3 days of her meowing and crying, I caught her and she's never left my house. She and William, her son, are very happy. Right now, and the neighbor doesn't care because they never came looking for her, the other neighbor's cat is in my house where it's warm. She's happy. Frankie, a Siamese, was tossed out after he began spraying so I've had him for a long time. I have no problem kidnapping neglected pets. Onyx was tossed out, skinny, covered in fleas, and was either already prego or got pregnant after getting thrown out because the neighbors got evicted and had well over 40 or more cats. Anyway, It took all summer but I got onyx to finally trust me and about 3 days after she gave birth, I got her in the house. a day later, she got out when I opened the door, grabbed up the kitten that I didn't know survived, and I found them both meowing at the door to come in. So Onyx and Jet are happy and healthy and getting bigger. Onxy turns out to be about 7 months when she was spayed so the poor thing was only about 4 months or less when she got pregnant. Please spay and neuter your pets people and remember, if it's really cold out, you're the parent. Just becasue they want out doesn't mean you should let them out. I see that every day here and it breaks my heart. That's how Callie ended up visiting with me until warmer weather hits. Their comment was, yep, she (callie) adopted me. she's gaining weight, drinking lots of water and seems content for an old girl.

I am not a lawyer (but I don't think you'll find lawyers in these comments.) The show is binding arbitration. If it's money, it's easy because the show pays all damages and appearance fees. If it's returning property and the litigant fails to act on the decision, I think they would have to go back to court and get another order that could be taken to local police. Awwww.... I adopted a beautiful black kitten of a feral mother that my coworker caught back in 2013 so she could have the cat deliver the litter and then get the mother spayed and released. He was such a cute boy and I have a lot of trouble saying no to a black boy cat as they're my favorite. This was on the Big Island of Hawaii and he was such a good boy: he always wanted to be with my partner and I and would ride on my partner's shoulder on a leash through the jungle until we got to the coast. We'd let him off his leash there and he would run around chasing bugs and geckos but never going too far. He would come everywhere with me... to work (they didn't mind), on errands, to friends' houses (provided they were cool with it), etc. Hawaii is extremely pet unfriendly when it comes to rentals and it's almost impossible to find any place that will allow a pet, so we snuck him in and he would sit in the window overlooking the parking lot and SCREAM at me if I didn't take him with me. He met a sad premature end from colon cancer but he will always be the cat I remember and love the most because he was so quirky and funny and had such a huge personality that later on, when we were living in our own place and had four cats, when he died, it felt like the house went from being full of life to completely empty just because he was such an enormous presence.

I hate the defendants so much. They didn't give a sh*t about the cats. Plantiff is a great guy

He got the cat back because he didn't care about the money . He just wanted the cat. He could have got a order for them to pay him money for the cat and didn't want it , which shows how much he cares about the cat which is why he got the cat .

The cats should be inside or have a catio built! They are safest this way!

You allow neighbors to pay for food, medical care and give love to your unwanted cat and then you steal it back. Poor Tipsy 😿

The defendants are frightening people. Those poor cats.

Freedom for Tipsy. I don’t think the defendants will ever give him back. Poor tipsy

These defendants seem like they will retaliate and steal it again

She should have told him to show the cat to see what kind of condition its in presently.

I really hope he didn't let it go. The cat deserves a good home.

That guy seems a little too old to still b living with his mom and hanging out with her all the time...they both need to get out and make some friends and give the cat back..idk I get a feeling they don't have a healthy household...I feel like they look like they smoke cigarettes inside of their house with the windows up. 😂

I don’t understand why people who are clearly struggling financially, emotionally and physically insist on having pets. I just don’t get it.

Why does JM not care that the defendants ARE bad people?! Why is she tip toeing around it???

Why not give up the cat for benefit for both themselves (mom and son) and wellness of the kids

The defendants don’t want tipsy, they just enjoy the drama. I reallllly hope the plaintiff got tipsy back!

Honestly he should have asked for the money and then once he got it offered to buy Tipsy for $500. It’s so much easier to enforce a monetary settlement and they would have eventually caved and sold you the cat. You know they would have. Awful people they are.
