Cardboard Horns

The easiest and quickest way to make awesome cardboard horns.
use a sharp knife and be careful!

I made my strip about 30 inches long, but you can experiment, the longer a strip is the more segments you'll end up with. In the video the strip is 4 inches wide this will then be divided by 2 when you cut it, so mark a line running along the middle of your 4 inch wide strip. After its been rolled up on the marker you'll now know where the middle is and can cut along the line leaving you with 2 identical 2 inch wide strips still rolled up and ready to be cut along the length of the marker to get 2 identical sets of rings. Actually, you can change the speed to you liking. I found .75 to be my speed.

+SUGARHEAD XD yeah they would!! When you go to paint them give them a coat of PVA glue first, that way you'll have a smoother surface to paint and get a better finish.

Hey +Violet Silver Yeah this video is quite quick, but you can always go back and watch it again if you missed a bit. or you can click on the little gear (settings) button, it's on the bottom right hand corner of the video and is where you change the video quality but you can also change the playback speed and play back the video as slow as 1/4 normal speed. the speed setting is also fun when listening to music on youtube as you can speed up a song making any song sound like it was performed by Alvan & the Chipmunks :D haha. thanks for watching and commenting Happy Making Patch.

+PenCapChewer yeah you could totally do the Same thing with thin EVA foam and it'd be waterproof. To waterproof the cardboard, I'd give it a few coats of PVA glue then a few coats of spray paint or spray varnish after the PVA had completely dried. Thanks for watching & I hope it helps.

You’re very welcome. Cardboard is a great place to start as you can usually get it for free. Then all you need is a hot glue gun and a box cutter and you can make almost anything! +Emi Nanase sorry for the late reply, the one strip is rolled up then cut in half and along the length of the marker it's rolled up on, this then gives you 2 sets of concentric rings. each set makes one horn. Could you possibly use super glue if you don't have hot glue?

Hey +Donni Divelbiss-keizur Yeah, super glue is great for cardboard and paper, however you have to be really quick and precise. with Hot Glue you have a few seconds to adjust, wiggle, bend, slide and get the join just the way you want it before the glue cools down and setts. Super glue sets almost instantly, so you don't have that adjustment time, but it'd definitely work :D Good luck and happy building. Ps. thanks for watching and commenting. -Patch-

I'm wondering what you can do to actually attach them to your head? Would you use a headband or some other cool trick? Considering these are cardboard, it's pretty light weight, huh? Anyways, great video! I've been trying to find a a very simple and fast method for weeks and you really helped me a lot. Cheers!

Yeah they are pretty light, hot glueing them to a head band would probably work pretty well, especially if it’s a wide head band. Using 2 narrow headbands would make them more stable and probably easier to hide the headband under your hair.
