I love how you keep it simple. Some of the boys here in Texas that fish around Galveston make it seem like you have to bring expensive tactics to reel in big fish. They only talk about 100 yard casting and casting reels that have been modded. You keep bringing that humble attitude and we'll keep watching.

You should practice hooking your bait diagonally. By doing that, it will prevent hook from foul hooking the bait. Basically by hooking it the way you do, the bait can spin freely around the hook and get caught on the hook point.

Well done/caught Erin! Always nice to see ladies catching fish too! !🙂🎣🐟🐠🦈🐠🐟🎣🙂! Bait presentation could be improved with bait cotton! Try pushing some of bait on above hook's eye, can push toothpick point thru bait-hook eye, break off, tie fast with cotton! Can thread hook thru bait twice,- Especially with hard bait like squid/chokka/octopus, to stop it sliding down over hook's point! That will mostly stop bait sometimes flying off, as you mentioned; and bait will be presented better to fish! Trim fins off those bait pieces with scissors before hooking up! Catch a big one! 🦈

Uglystik Tiger spinning rods have 6 to 8ft rods that can handle 4 to 8oz lures no problem...they're practically bulletproof and they're in the $70 range. I own 3 of them and never failed me and I've caught massive 30 to 100lb fish with them. But if you want to cast further...yeah you need to buy Surf rods that can handle that weight...but to be honest...Ive caught the majority of the bigger fish within 100 yards of distance. They usually come to you with the right bait.

@watersedgefishing95024 жыл бұрын
Hey. How are you? I don't want to come across as rude but a some of what you say sometimes doesn't make sense or is actually opposite of what should be done. Additionally, sometimes you talk about your favorite tips and tricks but there isn't consistent producer of fish. In this video, you say that your 10 footer casts shallow. Why? Most surfcasters plug beaches with 9 footers. When you talk about how to work lures and plugs, a lot of it is incorrect. Also, sometimes, it looks like you just like think of a reason for doing something, on the spot and it doesn't make sense. I appreciate your enthusiasm and how motivated you are. Some of your tips are actually very helpful though. Because of you, I now out salt on all the shrimp I use. Great tip. I think that if you read John Skinner's books and watched John Skinner Fishing, you would have a greater insight into fishing the ocean as well as walk away with a lot of knowledge and tips. Please, read his books Striper Pursuit, A Season on the Edge, at least. I promise you, it will be eye opening and you will definitely sound more professional. They will LITERALLY change how you fish and how use weather, lures, bait, tides, birds and so much more, to target saltwater fish from the beach and boat. Please read them and don't see this as really rude, Thank you, Sincerely, A Friend

I fish PINS along south texas coast and you have more freedom to hunt the fish off the sturctures he was describing to look for .
