I like the "abrupt" endings, sometimes people don't know when to end a story (or stop work on a song, painting, etc.) and I prefer an ending that is abrupt or soprano-esque than one that comes 5, 10, 20 minutes too late.

I have never understood slavery in a technical society. Now. wage slavery will always be a thing, but creativity and (sorry to use the word) diversity will always be of value. I never believe minerals as being a reason for intergalactic conflict. Unique biology, art, social, and scientific avenues seem like they would be of value.
