Love your videos pal. They show the true reality of lorry driving. Not an owner driver myself, don't think i could hack it myself, but your videos are a great insight into the daily challenges that it poses. Keep up the great work pal. If you ever see a wagon and drag giving you a flash, it could be me! 👍

Great watch as always. Reginald Mitchell was born in Staffordshire and i think helped design the spitfire.

Do you ever work with Amazon or the parcel carriers or is that all traction work? Always wondered whether they do loads for rigids
@TheRockgod23Ай бұрын
I've done the odd job for Amazon, they use rigids to collect from small companies and deliver to regional Amazon warehouses. Problem is most of these jobs are collecting late afternoon onwards and then delivering anytime up to midnight. Royal Mail will also utilise rigids in December's busy period, normally going from your local sorting office to the regional distribution centres.

I watch your videos because I love your hundred percent honesty . I’m a class one Ltd driver with ADR Cargo Operative and all the other stuff et cetera and I’ve got a question. I like what you do and I’d like to do it as well that would mean take my O license and buy a truck, what I’d really like to know and I don’t expect you to actually tell me, is how much you make after all expenses? I know it’s a question you’re gonna say fuck off none of your business but I got ask you never know cheers brother.

In real terms, after everything is paid for (over a year) , Including an average salary, truck payment, insurance, road tax, maintenance, tolls, overnight parking, accountant, equipment (straps, pump truck, jump leads, tools etc), tax man and fuel (+ adblue) etc etc, there is hardly any profit left. Obviously this can change if you have a good year, but for me (and lot's of others) the last couple of years have been tough. I'm just happy I survived and work only now seems to be picking up. I know this isn't the answer you're probably looking for but it's the truth. I'm sure any other owner/drivers reading this will agree. I kinda knew it would be like this before I even started but it's something I always wanted to give a go. Cheers.

Hey man Why don’t you get a contract with big companies like dsv and dfds as a haulier and you drive all around Europe.

They only require tractor units and mega trailers so my truck is unsuitable, I've already enquired. Cheers.
