Love your vids mate. Myself I’m a class 1 and 2 licence holder, and want to run my own show eventually. But I’ve just taken on a job as a traffic coordinator to understand how it all works the other side of the desk. I love the industry and really enjoying it so far.

My uncle always had his own vehicle just like you,and he always said when you first start as an owner driver it's imperative that you give out a great impression and work hard to get yourself a great name,then as you say once you get trusted your name will become top of the list for jobs...also companies do talk in this industry to each other so your name can quickly either be tarnished or put up in lights

Jeeney mac good vid m8 nice to see u grindin an gettin it on your days off aswel very informative m8 and I'm glad someone else has made the clarification between Trucker and a Truck driver I always feel people who are Truckers but refer to themselves as a driver or Truck driver let them selves down yes driving is the primary role/skill of Trucking but there's so much more to it to name just a few, different types of load securement ie ropin an sheetin,strappin,tarpin. Those are just scratching the surface of wats required In this job. Instead of dumbin this job down with the educational requirements, there should be an apprenticeship for this trade an the duration should truly be at least 2yrs. How things have changed since the 1980's when i first started driving hgv's. Back then i used to drive for a chemical company and we used to carry inflammable chemicals in 45 gallon drums ,there was no warning plates on the vehicle and no fire extinguishers on the vehicle. Also i recognise where you keep your truck.Take care my friend.

They do make me laugh RG... i used to cook on a flame grill in a tiny kitchen in the Caribbean......and I survived. I would love to tell you I was in my sweat box last week but in truth I was down Cornwall on my boat and it's always cooler out at sea.....just the ticket. Hope you're well.

As said before my friend should have give me a shout could have had all that done in a couple of hours,reason they have the extinguisher box tilted down is when cornering they don’t move about in the box and knock the door off and slide out, if it’s a decent box with a catch and lock in it should be ok,anyway keep up the good work and well done with the ADR stuff

I think nowadays with the haulage exchange and courier exchange, you can be fed a “untruths” regarding earning potential. For example there’s a guy “Pete the courier” on youtube he’s suggesting everyone should be in a 18t curtainsider with a tuck under tail lift. His viewers are under the impression it’s easy based on his (numerous) videos it’s easy to be making £500 a day easily without taking into constant operational cost, insurances,maintenance,inspection,fuel, Tranport manager… those who sign up to HX will undoubtedly not know their worth and lower the prices just to keeps the wheels turning and end up being a busy fool without realising what’s happening and within a year I’d suggest most will fail and end up loosing money. I like you and your videos, you have a straightforward way of telling it how you think it is, no dressing up to make you sound like your the big daddy of haulage.

I think Pete does highlight alot of the pros and cons of the exchange (which is a good thing). I think that is the basis of most of his videos , showing how it all works. I agree, it's not that easy without the hard work and hidden costs. There are lots of 'busy fools' running for peanuts, I'd rather have a million pound truck rather than a million mile truck (if you know what I mean) ! I agree, 'know your worth' Cheers.

Quality job there, like you say do it right do it once. Pete the Courier has a very different approach if you've seen some of the jobs he's done on his truck, it's proper cringe worthy viewing!

Yes, I've watched his truck repairs and painting vids ! Thing is I served my time after school in a bodyshop repairing accident damaged cars so I sit watching Pete's vid's, slowly shaking my head with a rye smile on my face. At least he's having a go and showing everybody how not to do it !
