I was going to say something about living and working there in the '80's then realized how stupid that was....😊 (Heart of the city was safe then, not so much on the edges) Like most cites some good bits, some not so good.....Funny you mention newspapers.... when I was there if you went into a newsagent on a Sunday, The Sunday Times, and the Sunday Observer etc were stacked 3' high, the 'popular' newspapers like the News of the World, Sunday Mirror, etc had about 6 copies each....😲

I've parked there twice after tipping at gate 8 BMW. Parked there from 8.30am ish for 24 hours. I paid around £10. I also used the bus to get into town and there was a fight on the bus. There were a few beggers around the town centre and old jail However, I found somewhere quiet and free to park when I am in that area. If you come off the A34 at Botley interchange and take the road as if you are heading into Oxford and there is a retail park on your right with a big Home Bargains and park on the service road down the side of the store. There is another park n ride there too. If I remember correctly, the Tesco there is only a tiny shop looks like an old pub, you cross over from the Travelodge and then cross over the main road and its on the corner with a tiny car park

I often order an "extra patty"; almost always, there is a sticker saying so on the burger package itself. At least a third of the time, they "forget" to add the extra.

I remember that video you did all those years ago, and you are still very enjoyable to watch today.
