You have restored my faith in knowing there are still "GOOD" honest,charitable people left.I live alone with 3 cats so I do all of my pwn cooking and everything else. I grew up in a small country store run by my family that served as that same sort of gathering place. They even built a large game room in the back with pool and foosball tables, pinball machines and arcade games! There was always people there, day and evening! It was located along the Pamlico River in Eastern NC near the Pamlico Sound. My grandpa built a very unique marina, there was a pond right behind the store, with the river located about 100 yards beyond. So he dredged a canal about 20 yards wide from the pond to the river, so people could dock their boats in what used to be the pond and also built a boat ramp! The locals were all poor country folk but along the river there were nice "summer houses" that people came and vacationed in.
