PT.2 WAS EXCELLENT...I HAVE BEEN THERE A NUMBER OF TIMES, AND IT IS JUST AS EXCITING AS THE 1ST TIME I WAS THERE, IN THE EARLY 80'S. I LIVE IN CANDLER, N.C. JUST RIGHT BESIDE ASHEVILLE... AND, ASHEVILLE HAS A MAST STORE HERE. IT IS A MAST STORE AND VERY NICE... BUT NOTHING COULD " EVER" COMPARE TO VALLE CRUSIS. ❤

I'm in the UK, and I had no idea that buildings of this type still existed in America. But I'm glad they do, because I'm fascinated by them, and thanks for letting us see them.

Hello, UK person...yes, we have one here in Knoxville Tennessee USA. I've been in there a few times. It's a fun place to go to. Many stores on the street, Gay Street, uptown, were originally Department stores. Our Mast General Store is in one of those.. Others are now Condos. Perhaps, some day, you can come to the States and visit one of these stores 😊.

I first visited Mast back in 2001 while living in Butler, TN. I absolutely loved the experience. The food, atmosphere and people are wonderful. I plan on returning next year when I move back to East Tennessee. I look forward to going back. Wonderful 👍

I met the present owners of Mast General Stores and they are wonderful people. The lady is from Winter Haven Fl. Her Dad had a Hardware store there. They do a lot of benefits for the people of the area. Charley and Laura Kilmer from Ocala and formerly of Winter Haven

Definitely a great find , I love the old building as well as the Store itself. It was a special touch having someone who grew up in the store do the narration and tour. It's what sets yours apart from the others. Good work John.

I grew up in the country in south Georgia, US. We had a small old fashioned country store at a place called 5 fork. There were 5 dirt roads at the back of the store going in 5 different directions. It didn't have much but it served the hunters and fisher people with the basics. What I loved most about that store was how old it smelled in the mid 1970's. That store came down during a hurricane years ago. Sure miss these old places.

Thank you Seth, and John for the video. Very interesting about the history of the store. Seeing the nostalgic candy brought back many memories of my younger years, the candy buttons, wax lips, and a lot more. RC Cola was my favorite soda, and munching on a Chick-O-Stick. Thanks for the memories.

The gentleman gave a wonderful presentation about the store and a tour of the wooden creaking mazes that blend into a huge general store. I only been to the store In Waynesville but I would loved to had seen them all. So much historical value in these quintessential buildings that cannot be overlooked. Love where you take us on your adventures. Knowledge is worth knowing. ❤

So intriguing and beautiful! I’m from Oklahoma and I can remember back in the 60’s getting to go to the local store and buying candy bars and of course a homemade bologna sandwich with a rc cola. It had been around since before WWI. It’s gone now but many a walk was made back then.
