As long as the build of thehouse is sound, you can replace the cheap fittings when they break or you get sick of them. We bought a house in 2015 and the finishings like taps, paint etc are soo cheap but we steadily replaced those things over these years. And gardening is such awesome therapy, picking out plants and watching them grow is very satisfying. I hope you are doing better and really enjoying your home.

My Fiancé and I bought our first home (also like you, after a ton of saving) a few years ago, and I STILL sometimes catch myself realizing something that I need to do.
