Sir huge fan but a slight concern. I think that you should use suppressors while testing ARs as they are extremely loud and might harm your ears. Though it might bring a slight difference in the performance but safety and health come first. Love from India♥️♥️♥️

You can have as many AR15s as you like in the UK. The only difference is you need to have them re-chambered to .22 if you want to keep them semi-auto. All of the single fire rifles are legal. Shotguns are pretty much a free-for-all. Handguns unfortunately not, but let’s be honest - it’s the rifles that draw the crowd when you show off your collection. @yutaja3 жыл бұрын
@@Crotone79 I have one myself, but it’s slightly different than his. Mine lacks the teardrop forward assist. Colt said it was made in 1984. Definitely a transitional rifle made with left over SP1 upper and lower receivers. Was my first AR my father bought for me at a gun show 10 or 12 years ago. Older gentleman we got it from threw in 2 vintage 30 round Colt mags and the 20 that was in the rifle. Unfortunately he replaced the original A2 round hand guards with A1 triangles to give a more Vietnam look to it. Other than that it’s in pretty good shape and I’ve since re-installed A2 hamdguards.

Qualified "expert" 39/40 with an A1 in basic. 300m was qual distance. Back then, we still did 500m targets on a KD range. I don't know if they still do. Mostly to practice hold over and Kentucky windage. Iron sights seem to be a dying skill. With all the headlights, turn signals and space junk hanging off of rifles now days. Years later I was issued an A4 (CCO sites still weren't a thing for basic Soldiering). I thought the A4 was the perfect upgrade with the elevation drum. The Army called them rifles still (I was raised that a 20" barrel was a carbine). But when in Rome... Technically? The Army called them "weapon". But on the marksmanship badge, it said rifle.😂 Never went to war with the A4. But did go with an M4. I never really warmed up to that little weapon/"carbine". I cared for it because I had to. But I never really loved it. As for modern civilian ARs? I still prefer my front sight attached to the barrel. Personally, I'd have kept the Colt. I love your vids Mr. Hickok. .

@@philipmix5237 I completely agree. I was only speaking to the apparent narrative that was happening in my head. I see 5 rifles, 4 new and modern and 1 old classic. 1 of those is not like the others. In the truck world a lot of workers like the old school more for the lack of features because too many features means too many moving parts and more chances of something failing plus harder to diagnose because of more variables. I had an older gentlemen come to my shop with 3 AR15's he wanted me to put prism sights on, sight in, and clean when finished. Two were a Daniel Defense and one was a LWRC. Those two Daniel Defense were much tighter, more quality built, as well as more accurate than the LWRC. Still though were not quite what my two full custom AR15s I built with GGP billet reciever sets but for a factory built AR15 they were the best I ever messed with in category of factory build AR15's

The V7 and M4A1 have the best barrels on that table that will outlast the others. Wise choice. I would also opt for the V7 because it is lighter than the M4A1.

I made a promise to myself I'll never sell ANY of my firsts. First pistol, first revolver, first AR-15, first shotgun, first milsurp rifle, etc. I've met plenty of old timers who kick themselves for selling their firsts, and they wish they'd just held onto them. Last gun I'd ever be willing to part with is my trusty Astra A-100 in .40S&W. First firearm I ever bought. You'd likely have to kill me to get me to give it up. It was only $250, but it is an eternal symbol of the day I truly became a self-determining free individual. Nothing screams liberty more than your first firearm, and if you have any sense in you, your first gun should also be your last gun. As for my first AR-15, yeah, I'll become a felon long before I give that rifle up. If they ban them, I don't care, I'm keeping it.

Yes Sir makes a lot of sense and it really hits home for me. Because 1 my first gun was a AR15 and 2 it was the last thing my father bought and gave to me. I’ll NEVER part with it

I live in Crook County, Illinois and can't own an semi-automatic rifle due to the 2A being used as Charmin here. So, I have a DDM4v7p Law Tactical folder pistol and a POF Renegade + pistol, both in 300 AAC Blackout. Both ran $2k. I'd pick the POF in a heartbeat. The quality is about equal, but you get so much more with the POF: drop in 3.5 lb trigger, fully ambidextrous controls, quality ambi CH, Dictator gas block, heat sink barrel nut, roller cam BCG, burnt bronze finish ... The DD is good quality, but really just a mil-spec AR that is put together exceptionally well. To me, if they were 1911's, the DD would be a Dan Wesson Valor, and the POF would be a Wilson Combat or Ed Brown. Not knocking the DD, it's just that you don't get anything extra over about equal quality you'd pay $1,200 for with something like a base Zev CORE.

Two bets AR manufacturers by far. POF and LWRC.
@tejumo73 жыл бұрын
For me it would be the LWRC if it were chambered in .5.56. I have the IC-A5 and it is on a different level. From the very first time I held it, it impressed me with a feel and presence that few rifles have. The controls are slick and smooth compared with the slightly grittier controls on my DDM4V7, but both are beautiful and do not fail. The only argument for me against the LWRC would be that perhaps it might be a bit more finicky if suppressed, being a piston gun, if you weren’t comfortable fiddling with the adjustments. Another great video, hickock45! Thank you, Sir!
