There is no point in having a detection routine for disabling the dual sim option for everywhere else but China/HK/Macao when there is NO money to be gained. It's not as if you can go to an Apple store and have them upgrade the single to dual sim for a fee.

This has been here since iPhone XR had modular sim slot, same with iPhone 11. Why would they close the "loophole" if they are using this method to manufacture iPhones with either Single SIM or Dual SIM. Dual Sim phones are very common and people generally have 2 phone numbers here in India. Though second esim is there, the hassle of getting one and then converting it back to physical Sim in case we switch phone is too much. Apple should add physical dual physical Sim capabilities for more countries.

One "PRO TIP" when opening the phone. To easily weaken the glue that holds the lcd in place, when you manage to pry in with the plastic pick is to dip the other one on the tip with some IPA which will make the adhesive detach instantly on contact. Keep dipping the tip of the plastic pick into the IPA.

This mod will be a hit here in the Philippines, where dual sim phones are common. Only 1 telecom company offers esim here and it's only for postpaid, which sucks because majority of the users here are on prepaid plans. It's a waste buying an expensive iPhone using just 1 sim. Hi, I wanted to know if it is possible to buy a brand new phone now. Wait until a week or month before the release of a new one. Then benchmark the brand new phone record the scores. Then store it again (not used again to eliminate external factors). Wait until a new iPhone + Software Update. Then benchmark it again and compare the two benchmark scores. Does this still work after a data wipe / factory reset? I remember a secondhand iPhone 11 I bought that labeled itself as a dual-SIM Chinese model. The phone came activated, and both SIM cards worked perfectly. But it just stopped recognizing the second SIM card after a reset and a software update.

I enjoyed your video, and they are quite helpful. there are PRO/CON of having 2 physical sim and having 1 SIM and 1 eSIM in your Iphone. if your planning to travel to other countries and you may want that country data plan . it is cheaper than using your carrier data plan and once you land into that country looking for a SIM card can be a pain. As your plan your travel you can load many eSIM of those countries and then enable them once your there. 2 SIM work well if you have connection between 2 countries / states/ ie….. it comes down to your needs .

Bought my iphone direct from HK just to get dual SIM support. Best thing i did, simple to swap out SIM’s now without relying on 3rd party mobile provider.
