Adam R yes you are correct imitation is a form of flattery. However, it can be a bad thing when people are constantly being put down by the same people who imitate their culture. For centuries dark skin and black features has been seen as undesirable and made fun of and still is but on non blacks those same things are praised (including our fashion and hairstyles) so that is why many people find it upsetting. Black people are treated as the underdogs in society so it’s a slap in face to be subjected to a certain kind of treatment from society because of the way we look, talk or dress, and have someone else do the same things and not go through what we go through because of it. That the best way I could explain it🤷🏽‍♀️
