so many fun and interesting physics quirks in this game, more than any since really, and yet such solidly _unsatisfying_ physics for basic movements and impacts. everything seems to be made of aluminum and walking feels so floaty..

ragdoll physics would only become normalized a few years after wind waker came out, so it really shows just how on the edge wind waker was to "feeling" modern

I swear, sometimes these little hidden touches just make me wonder how cool it'd be if a mod came around with new dungeons that explained and then demanded your use of such mechanics to complete a dungeon. Like blowing a keese into a switch on the wall to press it, or using bombs on steam jets to break a bombable ceiling.

@@TheSecretProvider That's a good point, haha. But it'd be cool to see it done with these older games utilizing the neat little extra features that most players just pass over. OoT and MM also had little easter-egg mechanics in them that could be utilized in such ways, but never were.

The tuner glitch works with anything, actually. You can hold the telescope, skull hammer, boomerangs, any equippable item and hold it up in Link's face. As someone else said, bottles work too. You can get infinite Elixir Soup and other bottle contents.

Hi, may I recommend you a few ideas for the future episodes? 1. During the cutscene where Grandma presents Link with the Hero Clothes, freecam shows that as soon as Link enters his Item Get pose, the shield disappears from the wall, even though the next thing Grandma talks about is the significance of the shield. 2. A relatively well-known one: when Tetra visits Hyrule with Link, but before her secret identity is revealed, the spirit of King Daphnes leaves the King of Red Lions, so it won't react if you damage it and won't yawn. 3. When Daphnes steals the Triforce wish from Ganondorf, freecam reveals that the King doesn't physically touch the Triforce either. 4. A map behind the mail sorters at Dragon Roost shows their flight routes, one of which includes a stop at the Tower of the Gods, clearly showing it's shape way before you raise it from the water. 5. And above them, there's several weird windows carved into the walls. 6. This one was uncovered by kaialone on Tumblr, so you probably would want to ask them before including it, but: on Ganondorf's katanas (not Phantom Ganon's sword, that's different) there's an inscription which translates to different things, depending on where his model is used (Japanese and US releases of GC, Brawl or WWHD): it's either"Koume Kotake", i.e. his moms from OoT, "Zubora Gabora" once again, or a word that can be translated as "real thing" or "genuine" or "good stuff" or something. 7. With moonjump, you can stand on top of a ceiling light in Komali's room. The collision is rather tiny. 8. Blowing on the ceiling fan inside the Bomb Shop gives you rupees. You can also look into unused maps. There's tons of them, the most well-known being the test maps reachable with an Action Replay cheats -- but some require reaching the map select and/or modding the game. It's all well documented tho.

I bet pigs are some sort of default value for entity drops. There are pigs in one of the earliest test maps--the one with the more painterly artstyle--so we know they were some of the first entities created for the game, and likely have one of the lowest entity IDs.

If u stans between that crate on 7:46 and between the barrels and change the camera view u can possibly get to see through the walls on the left if u do it correctly like just get close to wall and spin your camera and see tetra out of the map and gonzo, NOTE I only tried this in HD remake idk if it works in original

That pig easter egg is funny. But there's another funny thing that you forgot, Looygi: At Ice Ring Isle (which is slippery, as it's made of ice), when Link stops moving, he'll slip and almost lose balance. And when you move the control stick in the opposite direction, he DOES lose balance and fall on his face. When I saw this for the first time, I got a minor laughing fit.

There's 1 in particular that has caught my eye for years of playing this game. In Dragon Roost Cavern and Tower of the Gods, there are specific parts of the dungeon that make you go outside. These ledges can also be seen from the bottom of both towers. Dragon Roost Island's tower has ledges closer to the sea, you can even see the bird's nest on the last part of it from the bottom. It has another outside ledge part near the top where Valoo which can also be seen with the telescope from the bottom. With the telescope, you can even see the grapple hook targets all the way up there!!!!! My question is, did the developers only add the ledges there to be seen from the bottom so the island looks more realistic and true to the fact there are outside parts? Or are they ACTUALLY the same loading zones that can actually be reached from the bottom where theoretically if you floated up there, you could skip a chunk of the dungeon?

I played this game 3 or 4 times and only knew the first thing. Really great video. This makes wind waker even more my favourite Zelda. Place 2 is Twilight btw. I cant believe we never get such a masterpiece again. Only the old ones as remaster. I could cry.

I laughed way harder than I should have at the sight of the keese getting squished into the wall by the Deku Leaf. On the subject of the Tingle Tuner, Tingle's got some surprisingly weird secrets to uncover. One that gives me the heebeejeebees is when Tingle deciphers a hidden message on one of the skulls in Dragon Roost Island. The skull itself is nothing special, it just drops a blue rupee. But Tingle discovers it was someone's final message and that person was looking for that blue rupee. Really weird.

The reason the bomb shop owner keeps pigs around is to use their manure. Fertilizer made from manure is often used in bomb making.

The tingle tuner glitch also works with bottles. Simply use a bottle and then swap it with any item. Whatever is present in the bottle won't be consumed. By selecting another bottle, whatever is in the bottle will be duplicated

Reminds me of the bottle glitch in at least the N64 version of OoT (patched for the 3DS version, haven't tried it otherwise) where you use an empty bottle to scoop up something and swap it with another item. Except the swap-in item is completely replaced by the bottle, so I only used it on the claim check once I got Biggoron's Sword.

Yeah, great detail about the pigs even shaking themselves off, and that bomb glitch seems cool too, it would be cool also if like you could use glitches to use those stuff indoors in OOT, like to collect the rupees that come out of shooting the big rupees, and there was something to do with like, in I think the bombchu bowling alley, there was something that I wished I could use, I forgot what it was though, or maybe like, like yeah, I think I also remember like, wondering what was behind that door in the shooting gallery. Anyway, I also love the Windfall Island song, nice that it was mainly about Windfall Island.

If you visit the two little kids after rescuing Aryl its implied that they ate the pigs you catch at the start of the game (only the big black one remains). Maybe these crates are where Nintendo moved the models.

it seems to me that, at some point, they got realllly ambitious with this game and started trying to cram it with a million tiny details.. Only to be told partway through they needed to rush it out for christmas, so that fucked up the pacing and made them cut several dungeons and one stage of the master sword's crossguards unfolding...

Extra detail about the pattern on Tingle's back? Methinks it's a shiny Arbok. Color and shape lines up, plus Intimidate is one of Arbok's abilities.
