I went to see it at the North Hollywood Tesla location yesterday. My first impression was, it looks better in person. Especially the rear where I initially had doubts. But I'm sold now. Once the "Launch" versions are sold out and the standard priced variety shows up, I'll place my order. So glad the signal stalk is there!

BRIAN - when the REAR folding seats activate, both the FRONT seats slide forward a bit , to allow REAR seats to clear. the reverse is also done , when REAR seats retract to seating position. its also possible to have Pass though in the Center REAR seat. though there is a BAR located in the REAR left seat.

Tesla really need to review the price in Europe. They have added 11000€ and only added puddle lights, accelerator boost, different wheels and extra option of black paint as the other option grey was free previously. No FSD, no white interior and no other colour options. If you configure all the extras on the old model it comes to 55000€, juniper is 61000€

Actually, the glass roof is not the same. It has 7 times better heat rejection. That is important for places like Georgia where I live. Truth be told, I would order a Tesla with a metal roof over a glass roof all day long. Glass increases the cost of the car. Glass roof dramatically increases the cost of repairs if it is involved, meaning, even if not broken, if it has to be removed and reinstalled to accomplish repair it adds many $thousands to the cost of repairs. Metal is quieter. If a big rock comes off a dump truck and breaks glass, needing replacement compared to calling the ding and dent guy to pop it out and touch up paint. If you want to make EVs affordable, it seems a no-brainer to make at least one model with a metal roof, not ALL OF THEM with glass roofs. And truth be told I never use moon roof that I currently have.

I bought the DJI when my phone was inadequate for the job. I have a better phone now, but the DJI has better image quality and stabilization, and easier 1-2 microphone wireless integration. My backup camera is an Insta360, with my phone being my 2nd backup behind that.

BRIAN - Glass Roof is NOT the SAME. NEW roof has Silver impregnated and fully Tinted so cabin remains cool. however , wont heat up in WINTER.

Right now in the US you’re stuck paying $12K more than the current version because the Launch forced you to get FSD. Some will say color choice inclusion is money saved, or discounted, but Tesla flippantly determines pricing on interior and paint colors so I wouldn’t see that as a savings but more of a timing in when to buy. So $60K for a LR Model Y that at time of delivery the tax credit may no longer be available.

That’s all good if that’s how you would have equipped if ordered yourself and not forced in a “Launch” package. And this is getting people to pay high for adds that, except for tow, are simple tech unlocking for Tesla so 80% profit. Also, this is before the Performance release, which why is no one talking or speculating about that? What if it’s a completely different battery pack, suspension, etc., and costs the same as this Launch minus FSD? Again, always a crapshoot with Tesla that tends to screw its customers on pricing. My ‘23 MYP is worth $20K less and I only have 13K miles on it. Nothing worse than despising what you drive and once loved but now feel duped.

Glad you got a chance to see the new Model Y. Several of those features are on my model 3 refresh. Quick question: Can you use your connections to ask if Tesla ever plans to use it's data collection to determine how the stalk is activated in relation to recognized turns? Just like they did with the lumbar feature. Also, the activation of the stalk and the time between the lane change...this way it can tell us if it's a stop sign or light. And, any data that helps to indicate roundabout motion and correct signal stalk activation. Let's shead some light on this.

Interesting point on the use of English. The OED will add any word to the dictionary if it is in common use. This is reflective of English being a highly adaptable and dynamic language. = Glad you got to see it. think the biggest upgrade is what Tesla did with the folding rear seats which are accommodated by having the front seats out of the way automatically. The bumper cam was desperately needed regardless of its potential implementation in FSD. The blind spots in the front of the Y are significant;. bumper cam will be a nice addition. The rear hatch vertical part is still way too long. I wack my head on the hatch more often then I'd like, and yes, I know the max height can be adjusted < :) Too bad the charging speeds haven't been improved. and regardless of any efficiencies, the increase in range is underwhelming, IMO. It'll be interesting to see if the suspension changes from the 24-25 to the Enhanced Y have been improved.

The stock for the signals is unnecessary. I've been driving a Highland Model 3 and it's so nice to just press buttons to turn on signals. But I do know that a lot of people unfamiliar with the brain's ability to form new connections were complaining about it.

So, the 10th digit of the VIN is the year. That shows a "T" and T means that is a 2026 model. Also, F after that is Fremont. I'm very surprised they can make 2026 cars so early in 2025
