Kojima's mom sounds like a *f'king LEGEND* for all that support on his path, and the patient playthroughs of her son's games. The video doesn't mention it, but she passed away in 2017, from what I was able to find. I hope that both of his parents know the world knows they raised an excellent storyteller, and respected man.

@@mikhailvarkovsky4150I guess we are at different points in our lives then? As a parent, the concept of myself being able to give my blessing to my child to pursue their dream, in spite of societal expectations, is a highly emotive thing. Being a contrarian who shits on other people is just as much looking for validation as making a comment about something one found a profound beauty in, literally the only difference is my comment was constructive and validated that beauty rather than attempting to destroy it because one has been in the dark so long they fear the light. Myopic misnathropy is not a personality, it's a refusal to develop one. In short, grow up.

If you think about it, and look back at all the metal gear games, there is a distinct detailing even with limited Hardware. In the original Metal Gear, the dogs they used are clearly military-style dogs like German Shepherds. In Metal Gear Solid, even when you're running up the stairs shooting everyone, your gun is still fixed at an eye level and not just blindly shooting from the hip like some exaggerated Rambo Style. For perfectionist like Kojima, the only time the series gets too silly or unbelievable, he was probably just giving himself a break.

I actually played MGSV and I don't think it's an awesome game, it's ok, but not awesome. So many people jumping on the hate bandwagon because a few reviewers didn't like it. The thing is that the majority of reviewers on Metacritic give it 9/10 or more. There's actually more reviewers giving it 10/10 than there is reviewers giving it under 7/10. i feel like, Kojima does needs a partner that's a bit more grounded. Konami had to pull Kojima from Lost Warld and hand him a "Military" game, for him to create the metal gear series. And not with free rein as an indie developer, he's made a game where you're a courier on foot in an apocalyptic wasteland. He's a brilliant creative, but i think his pure uncensored vision is niche and intentionally obtuse. Can't wait to see what he does next. I'd like to see him take on an existing IP, PT/Silent hills looked to be a classic.

It’s like saying Christhoper Nolan and Steven Spielberg, who also have their names on the movie covers, claim to take all the credit for everything their staff have done. He isn’t taking credit. It’s because of his ideas and success, Konami thought having Hideo’s name, who at the time was a superstar in the gaming industry, will help sell more copies. That’s why he was sometimes credited in games he did very little development for, other than mentoring the project.
