Hiding From The Storm

The forecast was for strong winds but it was our 2024 Christmas camp so we weren't going to be deterred. We chose a spot that we knew had sheltered pitches and we went well and truly prepared. The night started reasonably calm but from midnight the wind strength kept increasing and by midnight it was horrendous. I got no sleep but we had some laughs and it was good to have our last catch up of 2024. we had some excellent tents out on this trip, 3 Hilleberg Soulos, a Kuiu Storm Star, a Chinook, an MSR Tour 2 and the much raved about Durston X Dome 1

One of the most atmospheric places in Northumberland for my money. Amazing place. Last time I camped there the wind got up so much I lost my nerve under the tress and re-pitched on open moorland. You did well to get Stephen back there! Great camp lads and thanks for sharing, ATB, G

@@grahamswildcamping I didn’t sleep a wink as the wind was noisy and I was worried about the tree over my tent. Stephen and Lee were on the heather away from the structures and trees
