Given that it's a secret song in a medieval painting, I'm convinced the correct instruments playing this song in the right place at midnight in Istanbul will unlock a secret alcove that conveying the secrets of reality that drove Bosch mad.

okay, but a nice little thing I've noticed is that the very first chord that's being played is constructed of an E and a B sounds. This painting has sparked many things in many people I suppose. The first time I saw it in an art book from the high school library, I was captivated. I haven't looked at it in many years until now & I'm thankful to have found this musical creation. It is beautiful, but also somber & actually conveys my emotions, state of mind & the sorrow I have for the judgement we are facing & will have to endure in the near future. So I agree with you @sweet jean & look forward to the end & new beginning of eternity spent with our Creator & Savior doing what we were truly made for...loving Him without the distractions of sensory overload this world has smothered us with. Hope you are well & safe! Take care & meet you some time soon! 🙏🏻❤️

Oh wow, this is absolutely beautiful! This is the music on that gentleman's ass? My god I can't believe it! XD Thank you so so much for making this! I love hearing people play old instruments and music like this, it gives me chills every time. I actually have a large print of this painting hanging right above my bed; the moment I saw it in my first art history class I fell in love with it. I feel like it encompasses all it means to be a human being. Chaos and beauty colliding in a sensual, violent, confusing mess. Weird and wonderful. Holy and depraved. Your music here truly spoke to me and is so perfectly fitting to this painting. Thank you again for this.

Hi again. Still have that painting in my room, and I was just wondering as a side note, if you happen to read this comment... What is your idea/story behind aging the man at the end? I absolutely love that transition, it really speaks to the audience in a way, and I was just curious as to your intention if you care to share.

You probably know this already so sorry for the lateness. Beautiful. You may wonder why such a thing was a punishment in hell. In those days writing music was called “pricking” or ”noting” and had the useage of a sexual pun, as well as pricking the parchment or paper with a sharp awl. Look closely at the barbed tongue, not a pen. As an aside, Shakespeare’s romantic comedy was originally spelt- Much ado about noting, but has been more recently bowderalised.

While listening to this beautiful music, I wondered if Mr. Bosch had friends who would drop by his studio and hangout, talk about what he was doing, and give him suggestions for his masterpiece. What if one was a musician who did write this piece, and suggested to include it in the painting...or someone suggested or Bosch thought of it...who knows. So much happens in the studio!

Gorgeous interpretation. Using this to learn the melody, I should probably use the midi of the basic notes, but this is a lot more pleasing to the ear. I'll be hard pressed to come up with anything that does any justice after this though, you provided just the right context for the melody, and it all came together.
